NameJet - Experience any shill bidding?

Hey guys,

Just curious if anyone has experienced any shill bidding or anything at NameJet? Backordered a name at the last minute and had a few other people do the same thing. I find this strange as the name has very low value to any domainer so to pay $69 for this name is indeed odd.

I just don't want to enter an auction only to have someone artificially inflate the price.

Thanks!

It's normally that people place theirs bids at the last minute. I do.

For the life of me I cannot understand how NameJet's LLLL.com auction sales are so inordinately higher than any other auction venue I can compare, primarily Sedo and GoDaddy. Both those venues always have outliers, but NameJet (my source being LLLLsales dot com) consistently pulls some ridiculously high prices for what are relatively ordinary "quad premium" domains.

I'd love to get any feedback others may have, for those who might also track this kind of data.

If you believe it has "low value to any domainer" then why place a backorder on it?, you could pick it up for reg fee when it actually drops.

The way I look at it, I pay the 69 bucks to acquire a domain before anyone else does, not to miss out... You also cant compare Namejet with Sedo or Godaddy, these two are not even in the same league, Namejet has far more Registrars with killer domain names than these two put together.
