Not a "roaring" market by any stretch of the imagination, but this week there was a .name sale reported by DNJournal.
"Shihna.name posted another $800"
It was sold at Sedo.com

Also, looking at our own forums, I see a lot of .name's that have sold very cheaply (:imho

Thanks guys for the info..... however, you all see future potential in .name? IMO i think it may have some postential in third world countries for personal info websites.... anyone agree/disagree?

I agree especially since in those area they will not have the budget to pay up for a .com/net/org So it could be worthwhile if marketed properly. IMO

I was thinking around those lines .... however if I for example reg all the possibilities then i reg personal names would that count as cybersquatting especially if i dont/never/and will never sell?

I agree somewhat - But it is still kind of Early to say for sure ...

I just went through my First renewals (From the first one's I Registered) and I only kept a small handful (They were all Parked - Not Developed) and I based the renewals from a Parking Point of View - The ones that easily paid for themselves were renewed - The others I will Drop .... Most of my domains were Not really fitting with the Extension though (See above in this thread) - They were mainly Keyword Domains.

I don't think it counts as cybersquatting but probably not worth that investment because it still remains to be played out in emerging markets I think India will be an interesting story still plenty of good names from a surname stand point and you never know if ICANN just keeps releasing stupid TLD's and Undermines your Strategy Elequa.
