Name.com domain nabber any good??

I placed a backorder on a fairly good pending delete domain on name.com

What are my chances of getting this? I know it has to be better than most other drop catchers like godaddy or domain monster....

But how would it compete against the better drop catchers? Name.com claims that their nabber service competes with the top drop catchers.... Is this true? Anyone have experiences with this?

They've never caught one for me yet. Hope that answers your question B-)

lol that isn't good.... I wonder where they get their stats from maybe they win names no one wants anyway. That could explain their self-claimed success rate. Hopefully someone comes on here and proves otherwise but that is how it seems....

Do you mind sharing how many names it tried for?

Probably like Godaddy, they will beat the handreggers but won't do well against the heavy pounds. If the name has not been backordered elsewhere that should do the trick.

I've only used the NAME service once and it caught the name I was after. GoDaddy's service would only catch my own name so I'd never use them again. I think more of the experienced drop catchers from TV sub-forum could tell you more about them.

Unless Andrew Reberry wants it...

Yeah, he is the domain boogeyman that I worry about everytime I want a .com or .net drop.

They just worked for me recently on a very nice name.

The domain that dropped was registered through Name.com before so I don't know if that had anything to do with it.

They're better than GD (that's not saying much), but not even close to as good as the big boys like Snap, etc.

if you want a .TV name.com is fantastic at catching these. If you want .com I did rather go with Snap, Pool or Namejet.

Don't they charge 50 bucks per backorder? For another 20 you might as well use snapnames..

Register backorders with all of them if they offer the name. Some names fall exclusively to snap, some exclusive to namejet etc others are up for grabs. You only pay if they get the name, if others have preordered then you participate in an auction.

What kind of domains does Andrew Reberry catch?

Why do people think he's the boogeyman?

I was wondering about Domain Nabber too. I would rather use Name.com since they are a trusted registrar. It seems for the most the other drop catching services work better, but your domain ends up in a strange registrar that can make transferring difficult!

I used Name.com nabber three times and had no luck. But the domains were always caught by snapnames so maybe that is why...

You need to maximise your chances on the drop. Therefore you need to include name.com unless this presents an opportunity to your rivals.

First check where the name is registered, then see if they have an exclusive partnership. (Snapnames at least used to have more than the rest combined).

Or backorder at all majors....Snap, Pool, Name, Namejet, Godaddy etc and cover all the bases.

I backordered a pretty valuable domain first on Name.com's domain nabber. Then, about a few hours later, I backordered on Namejet. I am hoping that the domain nabber procures it for me. I had expected it to happen within a few hours since the pending delete date was today.
