My whypark.com Review | Making the most money of my parked domains

Hi,
I was just reading through the threads here on domain parking and thought I would contribute my own domain parking experience. I was earlier with two of the prominent domain parking services and really couldn't make more than a couple of dollars a month. There is no way you can build traffic to a new parked domain in a legit way. The earnings are bound to stop, unless ofcourse you have purchased a domain name with previously generated traffic. That too IMO has to reach a melt down point when visitors just turn a blind eye to a landing page with tons of links and leave.

Let us look at the situation here, domain parking companies use OUR domain names to park ads of OTHER businesses. So who owns what? YOU are the main owner of the domain, the parking company gives you a few MB space and runs other people's ads to make ITSELF more money and you "a small percentage". Its more like you own land and lease it out to a company who then starts parking cars on "your" land.

However, it seems like the parking companies call the shots, even though they practically are leasing the land from you for free with no fixed rent. They also want your site to generate unique clicks, so that they make a good profit and give you some peanuts. 90% of the parked domains generate dismal income. Tell me of one parked site that makes even a 100 bucks a day? And even if it does now, it surely had previously generated traffic. How long will it last? Is it ever going to get repeat visitors?

To add to the woes, here are some points to note:
1. Unique clicks ( How on earth can a new domain name get unique clicks unless some guy decides to pay for directed traffic).
2. No site promotion even through emails. Clicks originating from a mail referral source are termed fraud. Wow!
3. Can your new domain ever get indexed by any search engine? NO
4. Can you decide on the content? Or which ads you can place on "YOUR" site? NO! All you can do is add some keywords and they generate some ad content based on their theme.

I decided it was time to do what "I" wanted with my domains. I tried the whypark.com offering and believe me, I'm much better off today. Today I run my own ads, I add content I like or stick to the whypark content. I also run affiliate ads. Finally after a month of being with WP, I see a steady trickle of both adsense and other ad revenue.

Check out my domain www.domain-parking-monetizing.com for my experiment with whypark. I hope that one day, we can all really start making the most of our domains "our way".

this is my research. WP = mini sites

WP did everything for you, just put your domain with them and change your keywords.

mini sites - create by yourself, find your own hosting, create your own articles or buy from ebay or other sites. using your time to do it.

$100 for 100 domains is fair enough, because for 1 year hosting is around $50, buying the adsense article site around $50, plus your time effort.

WP is the best that I found.

The other parking site , can't change your keywords and no articles, so it is very difficult to get traffic, the revenue won't increase too much.

Beside WP, any other website doing the same?

:) Why not try the calm blue template longd? I found it clean, easy to read and simple. Also, I generally remove the related articles and [[related]]placeholder. That makes it look better. To remove the related articles and placeholder, just edit it from the layout html code.

Fianlly I joined WP, Thanks Varon to helping me out! He is a nice guy.
This is my first site here: http://www.financial-advisor.org/
give me some suggestion...

once you get all your sites set up, you may want to get all your sites verified by google, and set a site map for each site, you can find that option once you have published a site, just click "edit" and scroll down, it will give you your google site map link, Varon is a great person, has helped me learn the ropes at WP, Thanks Varon:)

I found WP is more easy to use and save me lot of time. I had ordered a site from ppc-site , their design is similar than WP, but I need time to upload to my hosting, so now WP save me lot of job

Thanks guys. You are welcome. Btw, here's a good tip. You will notice that the articles appear non justified at times. Just add this code to the CSS box in your layout edit option. I generally add this code exactly after the initial padding and margin code. This will justify the articles and it looks much better.

Example:

* {
padding: 0;
margin: 0;
}

<--------------- Enter Code Here.
P {
font-family: Trebuchet MS;
text-align:justify;
}

.short {
font-family:Trebuchet MS;
text-align:left;
}

Good luck

Here is a snapshot of using the keywords. Try to think of as many related words you can for your domain. But avoid off topic keywords just to increase your site article content. Another thing I follow is to keep my meta description under 250 characters and with short sentences. The first part of your meta description is very important. So use a catchy keyword rich description. Don't try to use words like resource, best, top, links etc. A good meta description would be "Faxless Instant Approval Payday Loans".

I will add more tips soon. Hope this helps you guys make the most of your domains.

Looks cool. Why not try adding a background color? That way your articles stand out clearly. If you need to do that just make this change..in your CSS.

body {
background: 888888; <-------- Add your color # here
font: .74em "Trebuchet MS" Verdana, Arial, sans-serif;
line-height: 1.5em;
text-align: center;

I have also increased my article width..... they look more professional. To do that just make these changes..

.middle {
float: left;
width: 506; <---- Change default to 506
}

.right {
float: right;
width: 200; <----- Change to 200

If you need to increase the size of your header just make the change here

.header {
height: 100px; <------ Make your changes here ..example 150 px;
background: #ACCE3A;
}

And most importantly please add this small change to your CSS. This helps your page look consistent even on a firefox browser.

#wrap {
margin: 0px auto; <----- by adding the 0px auto, the page aligns well in Firefox too.

Yes... they change every week. Provided you have a wide keyword like "loans"

I did a google search for your site

Index of /[DIR] Parent Directory 25-Sep-2006 03:11 - [DIR] _private/ 21-Sep-2006 11:44 - [DIR] _vti_bin/ 21-Sep-2006 11:44 - [DIR] _vti_cnf/ 21-Sep-2006 11:44 - [TXT] ...

Looks like its been a long time since your site had the crawlers visiting. You would need to join Google webmaster central and submit your sitemap again. It would take some time for the crawlers to visit your site and load the new meta description. Patience is required. :) Also, try submitting your sites to various search engines, submit to free link directories etc. That should help improve the traffic.

longd, I see that you removed the related placeholder and inserted it elsewhere. So, while the articles on the right don't appear any more, they now appear below your original middle content section making the page extremely long. You need to remove the [[related]] placeholder and then try resubmitting to Google via webmaster central.

What is the click through rate on average and

the av. per click??? All I see are individuals touting their service and no doubt, things look good... I am with DS and like their service however, may play with wp along the way. Before I commit, I need to better understand the above... Thanks!

Varon can help you, try pm him...

WP is not only the parking website, you can set up your own keywords for your domain and also put your own advertising code in your domain and you keep 100% profit, other parking is limited.

cpamtm, Av per click would depend on your ad network, your keyword, ad placement and many other factors. I think most of the guys who have dished out a 100 bucks wouldn't be touting it if it were a scam. As you see, even guys parking their domains for free are complaining. I see very less of WP complaints here, even after the 100 buck investment. Of course, there is always the free version with 1plus which is the next option. I'm not saying WP is the best program on earth but its a great immediate, available alternative. For me, I don't care about the AV CPC etc, all I wanted was a $1 hosting with some content. The money will roll in any way, depending on how I promote each site. Even if I buy a domain from 1and1 for 6 bucks and then sell it for 12 bucks, its definitely a profit. Sometimes, when you park a domain, it might never even make it to a break even. Its better than trying to sell an empty domain with no content. I am pretty confident that most of my domains bought from 1and1 for 6 bucks would now atleast fetch me double and in some cases much much more.

The traffic generation is upto the domain owner. I take this as a minisite challenge. I also am aware, that in the future, SE's may frown upon these sites, but if I can, by then, add unique content to these sites, its well worth the dollar per site for a 100 domains. Till then, why not make the most out of these programs?
