I just got back from a weeks trip to the USA raising money, meeting with new clients, and actually spending a night in AC where I actually walked away with $500 more then when I walked in. Thank you Mr. Trump!

The highlight of my trip with the Video On The Net Show (www.videoonthenet.com) where I was on a panel (http://www.videoonthenet.com/2007/boston/web/confSchedule_hwsf1177584754.html#hwsf1177584754) called "Making Money in The Video Ecosystem"

It was a great panel discussion and I of course gave a 3-4 minute plug to the .tv extension telling everyone how it is the extension of the future. The panel lasted about an hour and as soon as Jeff Pulver posts the video up I will post a link here.

I also met with Jeremy Allaire, Chairman and CEO, Brightcove Inc. and spoke a bit about how brightcove is using the .tv extension as their video destination site.

I also have some great news concerning my company, Qoof.com... but that will need to wait for a bit.

Actually Pulver Media is a minor investor in Qoof already. We did raise some more money in the past 10 days, some from a very well known Founder/Chairman of a Hi-Tech company that is very well known. We are also getting very close to getting a term sheet from 2 top 10 VC's. I don't want to say anything just yet because I don't want to stir things up, but Please G-D, I will have some great news to share in the next couple of weeks.

The only bad news about this is that it leaves me with even less time for this .tv hobby I love so much.

Important conference, a quality panel (TurnHere does some great 'destination videos', with their 'free-lancer' model), and nice job on the .TV plugs!

Sorry for a little bit off topic, how to read Qoof? I mean how to pronounce "qoof.com"? thanks.

Nope. Service magic did the right thing and managed well early on by there VC and angels early on. Actually I knew one of the Vc guys that invested in it. Talking couple companies in boulder.

Qoof is very smart and I just hope they had picked the right vc to make quoof work well for the long term without some vc egos and doing things the wrong way.

Yes I know vc I am putting a general comment inn and there are a lot of good vc people out there and seed stage. From general discussions on a few boulder companies which I won't disclose the vc guys put there egos ahead and wrecked great concepts.

People here, if your thinking in raising money just remember to look at all angels on vc issues.

Sorry got side tracked on this thread

Qoof know a lot and I am sure they did the right thing for them and etc. Just like demand media, Justin.tv with there money and national. Sounds of things qoof is now in that category. Congrates!

Cheers

Choosing to go the VC route is not an easy descision. We are in the fortunate situation that we have a nice amount of cash in the bank and we have angels lined up to give us the larger investment if we don't go the VC route.

This actually works out well for us since the VC's know we don't need them for the cash and we are not deparate for the cash, we can work out better terms with the VC then we would have otherwise.

Out of the 5 vc's we are negotiating with, only 2 are in the top 10 US. And out of the 2, 1 of them is pushing hard. We like them a lot because if their portfolio of companies. They have 2 companies that they can close deals for us with that can push us to mainstream in a week. That is one of the benefits of working with a VC, their connections.

Agree in last part. Ref portfolio co factor by vc

Hope it goes well. Sounds like you know what your doing. Me personally I would rather pick up a pulver as an angel investor and his contacts over a vc and his smarts. But that's just me

Either way, great job and your on the way up with companies mentioned above.

When you go ipo by vc pressures save me some IPO shares lol. That's another perk in vc if your looking for an exit plan I guess

Hope your at the helm of this and after vc round.

Cheers

Actually we our exit will most likely be M & A and not an IPO, but hey, you never know :)
