Hi,
just think it is important to discuss what Sedo offer to buyers on their latest auctions

so if you want to sell a good domain fast on auction, you have to pay 59$,
and if you sell the domain they collect 15% on top of that(with a minimum fee of 60$)

let put some numbers:
suppose your domain sell for
0$ | you lose 59$ | sedo pocket 59$
200$(min fee apply=60$) | your profit = 80$ | sedo% = 60%
500$ | your profit = 375$ | sedo% = 25%
1000$ | your profit = 800$ | sedo% = 20%
1500$ | your profit = 1225$ | sedo% = 18.34%

it will make sense if they had like a 19$ or even 10$ per domains, they will likely have much more domains on auctions, and still collect the 15%.

i would have gladly paid 200$ to put 20 domains on auctions, but not 1200$

my conclusion: this option is a good one if you have a domain that you want to sell fast and are sure it will sell for 1000$+ by leveraging their market reach

my 2 cents, what's your take on this

ps: i will put a domain on this auction plattform, and will provide more details on the process; and will keep you updated on the results

I agree with you; it's not worth the money.

If I were you, I'd sell my domains on NamePros and keep all the profit for myself.

depend on the domain, for some you can sell it at a higher price on Sedo,
you need to know each marketplace trends before deciding

I may be wrong, but I do not think buyers at NamePros are willing to fork over couple of hundred dollars for the best of your lot.

@NameFit

If that's true, then the entire "lot" probably shouldn't be renewed. A couple hundred dollars is nothing for a decent domain name.

I buy at least one short, common, single word .com domain for $10,000 to $30,000 every month. If your names aren't selling for $XXX, then stop renewing them. Use the money that you save on renewals to buy a valuable domain name.

IMO Flippa is better marketplace for domain auctions....

Stop auctioning and start selling direct.

Stop auctioning and start selling direct.

you can auction 100 domains while doing other business,
selling direct require skills that most occasional domainers don't have

Selling direct - either you reaching out or buyer reaching to you... is a different ballgame but has its own rewards (Multiple of 5-10 at least)

Both are ballgames.

One just involves minor league money.

If SEDO reduce direct auction fees to $10, there would be inundated with crap domains that have little chance selling and their marketplace would suffer from a bad reputation.

people pay 59$ for very bad domains, just browse their actual list
their auction run for 7 days

if they put it at 10$, educated domainers will publish more of quality domains on these marketplace

Not necessarily so, a lot of domain owners would not like to have quality domains listed beside a heap of garbage.
