Hi

So I have some names that I would like to sell on SEDO but I have recently registered them with GoDaddy (tdnam purchases). Can I sell them on SEDO before the 60 days that I have to wait with GoDaddy before I can transfer them out?

I know I can push them to another GoDaddy member but is that limiting me on selling to someone on SEDO? What if they want to buy it but don't want me to push to their GoDaddy account?

I hope that makes sense. Thanks.

If the seller is willing to pay for your domain, they should be willing to set up an account so you can push the domain to them. In rare cases, there might be a problem, but you'll just have to explain that there's no way that the domain can be transferred out until after 60 days. I've never had a problem with the 60-day rule.

It does make sense, and it's commendable that you think about this in advance.

AFAIK, there is nothing in the Sedo rules to stop you from selling just because you are limited by the 60 day rule (but see further below for caveat).

In fact previous experience suggests that Sedo tend to encourage transfer via their own escrow accounts at large registrars, which presumably would trigger the 60 day rule anyway.

Having said that, IMHO it would be best to include a caveat in the auction description advising the buyer of that fact that they would not be allowed to transfer away from GoDaddy for 60 days.

For most people that wouldn't be a problem, and in the rare cases when it is it's best for all parties to know that earlier rather than later.

Why not just have them create account on godaddy and transfer within the same registrar?

Yes, free push to godaddy. Create a free godaddy account. Easy for both party.
That a rule limitation 60 days transfer to other registrar.
