Hey guys,

I just bought an external DVD writer and I'm kinda lost on how to burn copywrited movies and TV show DVDs that I own onto another disc so that it will play in the DVD player on my TV?

I'm sure I have to download some sort of program. Does anyone have any reccomendations?

Also what about the movies and TV shows I bought from Itunes? I paid for all of these and want to be able to watch them on my TV instead of my computer. How can I burn these onto a DVD? My Itunes collection is the main reason I bought the burner. I have just over 200 gigabytes of TV shows and Movies from Itunes and I need to get them off my computer and onto a disc.

Any help is accreciated. The burner came with NERO but it doesn't work for either of my problems.

Thanks,
GG

putting a blank cd into the driver then opening itunes should ask if you want to burn a disk, click yes then drag the stuff into the play list then burn it.

not sure about the ripping. :td:

go to slysoft.com and download the free trials for 'anydvd' and 'clonedvd2'. I bought them both and I use them to make backup copies for all my movies.

;) That only works for music. I can make a back up of my Itunes movies and TV shows but I can't make a playable DVD.

I'm gonna go try slysoft right now, thanks!

"I don't have any particular advice to offer you...but permit me to take a moment to rant against Digital Restrictions Madness.

Apple doesn't want you to do this. Never mind that it's a perfectly fair and reasonable thing for somebody to want to do...they won't let you.

Now, there's guaranteed to be some sort of work-around--information theory demands that that be the case--but I don't happen to know what it is. Even if you do get it figured out, though...Apple would claim that what you're doing is a breach of contract (the iTunes EULA) and illegal (the DMCA) both. This is patently (if you'll excuse the term) ludicrous.

Apple's official method for you to do what you want would be to hook up a Mac to the TV with an appropriate cable. Now, while this would be a delightful solution--a Mac mini would be a wonderful media-center PC--it's also damned expensive."
Suming that up
You can't burn videos bought off itunes unless you void the agreement and do it that way, its illegal to do it :td: so its either you buy a cable and hook your pc to your tv and watch it that way :td:
