Putting data on a DVD

I am in need of reformatting my computer and I need to get about 5gb of information off and onto CDs but I dont want to put it on 10 different CDs. Is there a way I could put all the files onto a DVD cd so i only have to use 1? The program I tried with is RecordNow! which isnt really the best program there is and when I went to burn the stuff onto the DVD it ejected it saying something about it not being the right format which leads me to think it isnt able to write data onto a DVD. If this is possible does anyone know of a website or prgram that will tell me how to do this?

Youll need to buy a DVD RW drive...

You can also only get 4.35 gb data on a dvd-r+r/rw disc unless you get the 8.5 gb dvd9 discs which are about £2 each but then you need a dual layer dvd burner

Ive got a DVD-write CD-write combo drive and have written dvds before on it and I know that DVDs can only hold a little more than 4gb but whatever I have left will just go on a regular CD.

I would suggest using NERO or Sonic, also perhaps if you compress some of yoru files you can probably fit it all onto one DVD disk.

Ill try NERO but I think RecordNow! (which is what im trying to use) is from Sonic.

compressing file is the best way to do it

and believe me try Nero, it is the best

i use that for writing all my cds / DVDs
