Motivation

I am a great believer in that old adage, "what one man can do, another can do" and though I do not always hit the mark with that I do try to emulate successful people but what I can not get my head around is how people motivate themselves to write hundreds of emails...how do you top guys do it?

Don't try to emulate anyone. Some sellers may go overboard with the amount of emails sent, try 10-20 emails a day, or 30 minute intervals. It comes down to visualizing your achievement and taking action...throw in your favorite CD, learn the copy and paste shortcuts, or grab some clipboard software like clipguru (free but discontinued). This must be the easiest part of my day, and the most rewarding, not many can say that.

I have been in sales for years but still find myself in need of a little extra motivation everyonce and awhile.

I try and send out 20 to 30 emails aday targeting a new domain. But December has just killed me. I can see where my emails are being opened by tout but responses are ZERO. Just December? I hope so.

Well I sent my last email Dec 15th and have been working other things till Jan 4th.

Just got to keep your head up and wash rinse repeat.

Imagine that you knew that you would get a $300 sale (for example) if you sent out 100 emails. Effectively you get paid $3 per email whether you get a response or not to any individual email. So if someone offered you $3 for every email you sent out, how many would you be willing to send?

That is the mindset to get into. I send out emails quite a bit and regularly get sales from them - sometimes I get a sale after 20 emails, sometimes after 100. Be patient, consistent with getting the emails out and the sales WILL come.

My first sale was made on the very 1st email I sent out. The customer called me direct 8 minutes after I hit send.

I sold a hand reg 3 weeks after I bought it for $650. If they could all be that easy.

Just have to think about the end result, it is agonizing and mindless sending emails out, but thinking about the end result gets me through it. Plus when I get a sale, it just motivates me more for the next batch.
