Had a nice mid $$$ sale, the buyer contacted me. I set the escrow with Moniker.
Then I got a note from the buyer - Moniker refused to accept her credit card, wanted her to use Paypal. The buyer balked at all the bank information Paypal demanded. So I called Moniker.
Moniker has stopped taking Credit Cards for Escrow. So says Michael White, the official who apparently made the decision about a year ago. Never mind that most internet business is done using cards.
From our conversation it appears that Mr White did not know of any times Moniker had lost money as a result of accepting cards. He seemed unaware that the buyer can stop payment just as easily with Paypal - indeed he seemed to know very little about Paypal in general.
Any retail businessman will tell you that customers are like butterflies - if you place obstacles in their path they often float away.
I just wish they had some businessmen working at Moniker.
