Hi guys, don't know if you all noticed but Moniker now charges $6 for each url forwarding without notifying about the price change. At least I had no idea they put a price on url forwarding since when I created it was free. So if you don't use it and don't want to get charged for it make sure you delete those services.

Important: if you delete the url forwarding just check your nameservers again. They will automatically be set to Moniker ones. So they can make a cent or two.

Moniker sucks more and more each day. What the hell happened to them? It's like a different company now.

Their support is going the godaddy way but worse I can say honestly.

This nickle and dime stuff is one reason I don't use Moniker.

Here's the screenshot

I just checked and the url forwarding service in my moniker account is still free.

Six Dollars! Reseller Club were charging $0.25 and recently made it free (not that I'm a proponent of RC).

I got an email from Moniker with an order of $144.00 worth of URL forwarding service and I talked to their support. What they say is attached in the attached screenshot.

It's free here too. AFAIK it's always been $6 on "standard" accounts. If you're on a wholesale (or what they call "SPECIAL PRICING") account, it's free.

I assume you may change your dns server and then use a free forwarding service.

hmm. i don't have a 'special pricing' account, so i've always paid - but it's always been (and still is) $2. i used to pay them for it, but i stopped a few months ago when they started delaying activation for several days. it was a short-lived policy, apparently, but they were reaping the benefit of your clicks by waiting a few days before activating the url forwarding. now i point my name servers to fabulous, pay nothing for forwarding and it happens immediately. (unfortunately, if you want masking you have to put up with a horizontal blank space at the bottom of the screen.)

cashe what other free forwarding services are there?

Am seeing $0.00 here also.

Contact Bari here, or another account manager (Don Lyons, etc), and hopefully they'll be able to help.

$6 is normal pricing, not domainer pricing :)

URL and Email Forwarding IS free with Moniker. All you need do is create a help ticket with support or email your Moniker account myself or your account rep and they will modify pricing in the system for you.

False.

Your system would NOT allow me to forward without paying a fee. It's not "free" if you have to create a help ticket to request that an account rep "modify pricing". IMO.

Moniker is Godaddiazing in matters of $ and in matters of support.

Monte lost his mind, if you complain to him, he immediatelly starts threating, for example with BAN.
He maybe build something good but now he's ruining it, for example by picking useless employees.

Now I understand why Moniker is an awesome registrar and not only a registrar

Free to whom? All members or just those who get "special pricing"? Last thing I'd want is to submit a help ticket or contact an account manager and suddenly find I have to pay $6 instead of the $2 I've been charged in the past.

This is crazy. If it's free, then it should be free for everyone. There shouldn't be any games where you have to apply to you manager to get it reset to zero. If this the "new" moniker way, it sucks.

It's simply Moniker offering an 'advantaged' service for preferred customers and more serious domainers, with a very VERY low entry barrier.

It's no different than Godaddy offering coupon codes. They know that "domainers" will circulate these coupon codes on forums like this and exercise an advantaged price structure, while 'the public' will continue to pay retail rate for registrations and services.

This is akin to people who were paying $10.99 for .com registrations discovering coupon codes, then claiming it to be "unfair".
You're all sniveling about nothing.
