At the risk of major flaming (it comes with the territory) , I have a newby question about monetizing GayBaja.com, and newly acquired domain name whose search words return more than 2 million sites--but not a single Sponsored Link.

I'm a huge fan of Baja in Mexico. Obviously there's interest in Baja among the gay community, hence the 2 million + links. How do I capitalize on that?

My assumption is that I’d earn almost nothing simply parking the domain name (because of the absence of sponsored links).

Would it make sense, then, for me to create a website at GayBaja.com, with links to some of the top sites returned in the Google Search of “gay Baja”? If so, how do I set up a system for charging the destination sites for the “click through’s”?

Thanks in advance for any help.

No problem to help, as I deal in gay domains a great deal, but the part of your post which confuses me the most is your claim to 2 million+ links for gay Baja. Perhaps you are doing a Google search for gay Baja, which is not an accurate beginning. You really need to search in Google for "gay Baja" or gaybaja. As of today, I see 599 Google links for "gay baja".

That being said, there are other tools you can use, most of which are mentioned numerous times in this forum, to determine potential type-in traffic for this domain. A search at ovtkeywords.com for gay baja, for example, shows 0 links.

Still, you can try monetizing the domain at one of the PPC providers mentioned in this forum. Some of the new ones gaining a lot of attention are Parked.com and Bodis.com. You can try these out.

My gut feeling is, if there really is a market for gay baja, this would either be a buy-and-hold situation... or one where, yes, you need to develop a website on the topic and bring your audience to you. In that case, I suggest that you define which Baja you are targeting, California or Mexico.

I wish you the best in your adventures....
