I think you're missing the point that mobile phones won't be the only types of devices for mobiing. There are the palms, treos, and other smartphone types) and even then, more and more phones will be moving to having a qwerty type keyboard, with somewhat bigger screens.

LasVegasVacations is a pretty nice name.

I think you missed the most important one: the PC.
Nothing prohibits a .mobi to run on a desktop PC or laptop.
What I will be doing with my .mobi domains is setup a full featured site that dinamically serves mobile content or full content depending on the user agents.

If his domain is brought up in a search result, which is hopefully where most traffic will come from for mobi's, no1 will need to use that painstaking input, what with bookmarking & browser / URL caching, its not so bad imo.
