... and you ran to put it on ebay, right !? :hehe:

:guilty:
Worth a try, no? If by some chance it sells, :bingo: it'll help pay for all the other damn .MOBIs I couldn't stop myself from buying... :$: :$:

In any case, I'm still adding more:

DRAWPOKER.mobi

I found a simple javascript version of draw poker that I was thinking might work as a way of developing the site, although I haven't yet looked into whether it would fit on a tiny screen or if cell phones generally run javascript or not.

COQ.mobi

"Coq" is French for "chicken"...

You know, I could be wrong, and hopefully for the sake of your "Mobi" series I am, but I'm thinking that domains with the word "mobi" in them, unless they're specifically sites geared toward developing other .mobi sites, might not work out that well. Mainly due to the fact that the ultimate goal of a mobi domain is to be transparent, if ".mobi" becomes the default domain extension for cellular devices. In other words, the average user wouldn't even necessarily know they're at a .mobi site, and may in fact never even be aware of the extension. So they likely wouldn't be looking for it. :imho:

Nonetheless, best of luck with your domains!

Yes...I see where you are coming from and have had similar thoughts...

...BUT...

The dot Mobi has such a cool ring to it that I think there's a chance that it will be used in branding. *Especially* if the .mobi part is dropped, I could see services branded with mobi in it.

For example, my company is called "Mobivate Technologies", which will create services called "Mobicity", "Mobitunes", etc. This branding lets the customer know that the services are mobile friendly.

It's worth a shot, I'd rather pay $80 for "Mobitunes" than $100,000 on "tunes".

I think I did ok considering this was my first domaining experience. Some of the ones below have good potential. Where I think I erred is that I didn't get good generics, though it wasn't for lack of trying. The first problem was that most of the good generics are reserved. The auctions for the generics should be exciting, and will truly give us an idea of what our domains are worth. I don't think I'll be a player in those auctions...well, maybe I'll pickup one or two if I see value.

As far as the domain companies that I went through, here is my experience...

DomainTheNet.com (Israel) :xf.love: : I found this hidden gem a few months ago. They only allowed one customer to register per name, and for a couple of weeks I had my pick of dot mobis. 80% of the domains below were acquired through DomainTheNet. One problem I ran into was that they processed my domains in order of entry. As I was requesting the domains, I got better at finding high value words, so my high value requests were near the back of the list and had no chance of getting registered.

EuroDNS.com (france) :td: :td: :td: I entered around 80 domains into EuroDNS prior to landrush before I realized that they were charging my credit card. In addition, if they were unsuccessful at registering the domain for me, I had two options (neither of which I liked):
1) Receive credit towards future registrations
2) Receive money back with a 5% processing fee (this would have cost me around $300)
After noticing the charges on my credit card, I fought them for a couple of weeks to get reimbursed, which they did very 'reluctantly'. Companies shouldn't charge you until they actually obtain the product for you!

Communigal.com :td: This site held an auction for domain names before the land rush. I entered around 300 domains ranging in price from $79 to $279. Communigal was only able to register 1 of my domains.

Hostway.com :td: Request over 250 domains, received 1 of them!

Dotster.com :| Requested around 100 high-value domains, obtained 2...

Although I didn't want to get anymore .mobi, it was bugging me that one I wrote down a couple weeks ago still hasn't been registered, so I got TravelAlert.mobi today. While I was at it, I got the 4 letter name of a big tv station.

Just one more name left on my original list not registered by somebody.
