Yahoo realizes the importance of Mobi. Everyday I check to see my rankings for areacodefinder.mobi on msn.mobi/google.mobi and yahoo.mobi( one search). Today I searched this website in yahoo and it shows up as the first result in mobile websites.

Being mobile compliant really means alot and these big companies realize it. Who the eff wants to scroll and zoom as a way of viewing websites? I tried it on a few different devices and it's really annoying. I even had a game on my gameboy when I was a kid that used this scroll, navigate, and zoom in feature. It was fun to search around and see what I can find (like a magnifying glass), but if I'm looking for immediate info/content it would take all day to find it on the new safari browser or microsoft thing. I don't feel like playing games when I visit a website. Unless I'm visiting a game website of course. :D

Mobi is great, and develop all of your sites so Mobi will have the top rankings.

Did you submit it to Yahoo or did they find it through DIR?

I submitted it to their mobile url submission along with the regular url submission a few weeks ago.

I also tried linking this site to every mobile website and directory out there.

Too bad no one else has anything to say. I guess you are all a bunch of people sitting on your names hoping to strike gold without development.

What you all have (mobi names) are just rocks right now. If you each contribute and develop at least one (minimum at least) mobi website then you have added value to the extension. By developing you can turn your rocks into Gold. I guarantee you that Mobi will be a lost cause and fail if you don't develop your names. Not only is Mobi is up against the odds but if there is no content on mobi names then it's pointless.

Please develop your names!

I like gold......

Those are great words of wisdom thinking1, Let's all put in our efforts and develope at least one like you said above thinking1. We are all investors in the .mobi name! If we don't care for our own realestate in the extention, then there could be a possibility it will fail, on the other hand if we put our efforts in, has a greater chance to succeed!

My Drunk Pondering thoughts :)

If I type in my londoncentral.mobi in yahoo it comes out no 1 - in google it comes out no. 3 - but I can't imagine many people typing londoncentral.mobi which is a pity ! It is just parked at the moment and I haven't learned how to make a web page yet.

Ask some fellow nampro'ers out and I am sure someone will help you with development for your .mobi :)

Go to Mobisitegalore.com and figure it out! I was able to make a site that even got showcased at mTLD and I can barely design a regular .com website. Their tools are very easy to use (maybe too easy, I want more features).

An important time

This is a very important thread topic..

I am part of another forum on the net.. it is a SEO (Search Engine Optimization) forum.. I champion Dot Mobi to those crafty techies there.. but much to no avail.. so far, at least.. but this new Yahoo "One Search" is like a bucket of cold water being poured on them in the morning.. a new, fresh hiearchy of rankings.. for the mobile internet revolution.. very important opportunity.. and to sum up the basic SEO tenets:

For high ranking,

1.) Backlinks to your site from other people's sites - The higher their site is, Google PR (Page Rank) etc., the more weighted that link back to you is.. but everyone is pretty much starting anew here in the new, seperate mobile search engine game.

2.) Keywords in the domain name (also keywords in the title tag and page itself)

I have created a thread for listing our very own NP members' Dot Mobi Sites.. if we can utilize it, then each one of us (and everyone else) can circulate more with important link exchange requests..

It's amazing how one can get near the top now with their new Dot Mobi in this revolutionary mobile Yahoo Search (then Google and MSN to follow).

..for a worldwide audience

Kind Regards,

Yelo

Congratuations in order :)
Yes i see your search results creeping closer to the top every day

being mobile compliant and writing properly structured code using headings, titles, urls, alt tags and last but most important is to have relevant content. If you are using keywords in a meta tag then you should have the keywords in the body text a couple times. When your writing your content you should keep this in mind. construct sentences using your keywords at least once.

http://topforty.mobi has "weekly top forty" as keywords. when you search yahoo (onesearch) for "top forty" it dishes up topforty.mobi has #1 in mobile results. now when you search for "weekly top forty" BINGO topforty.mobi is #1 in web results (1 to 10 of 2880000 )
and also #1 in mobile results

Now that isnt very tough to do because my choice of keywords isnt that hard of a market to break into imo

topforty.mobi rates 5/5 at ready.mobi and gets 20-30 uniques a day

http://klubs.mobi has "night club" as keywords and imo is a much tougher market to break into with an ovt of 465428 for february that means there are alot of competing sites for those searches. If you search any city in the world las vegas, new york, miami, boston, chicago, vancouver, paris, rome, oslo, that i have listed clubs in. All total 55 i think, klubs mobi comes up #1 thus your search would be "anycity night club"

klubs.mobi rates 5/5 at ready.mobi and gets 50-70 uniques a day

http://imogenheap.mobi has "imogen heap" as keywords and imo should very simple to come up #1 yeesh the ovt for february was only 32111 searches. but it had to be a pretty site. and very pretty it is. the only problem is that everybody refers to her has "immi" and not imogen. so the lack of keywords in any of the 3500 pages bring up this search in last place. no headings no alt tags, no naming of urls and images nadda, just a plain pretty site translated into 8 different languages

imogenheap.mobi rates 5/5 at ready.mobi gets 2-4 uniques a day
but it rates 0/10 at all search engines
