Missing out on great names

The other day on Ebay I had a chance to buy an awesome name at a really good price. It was a 2 word .com and the phrase gets some good daily searches.

I bid at the last minute and was outbid by $1. I felt really angry afterwards as I would have paid a lot more, but stupid me didn't bid high enough.

How do you feel when you miss out on opportunities like that? Scold yourself repeatedly or tell yourself there will be more chances down the line?

both: first scold myself repeatedly and then go get another one.

You can always use a sniping service like auctionstealer.com to get your last seconds high bids in automatically. It's gotten me a few wins in the past where you don't want to tip your hand and start the bidding war too early!

I usually manually do last second bids but they always end up in the last 5 seconds rather than the last second lol
Will check out that link thanks.

It sucks when you miss out on a great opportunity, but you have to move on to find the next great deal!

If you got overbid by $1 then probably you were bidding against a proxy and higher bids by you would just have caused the proxy to go $1 higher than what you bid. Up to a point. So you did not miss the domain by a dollar or two, most likely.
