I think the actual letter (probably the first page) might not be copyrighted, as its addressed to a person. But the rest of the "book" probably is, as it is probably a pre-written Microsoft document that's sent to all domain owners they went after.

Think of it this way - if Rowlings were to send you an advanced copy of Harry Potter 9 - Revenge of the House Elves, with a letter asking for your opinion, then the letter is truly yours, but not the attached manuscript.

My 2 cents.

Well, if the book is prewritten then yes it is possibly copywrited but if its not... then not lol :D

Well all it takes is a non-paying highest bidder and then all 2nd chance offers can be turned down. If he was smart, he'd end the auction early once there is a top bidder with high positive feedbacks so they are forced to buy.

Yeah not only that, its from a bidder with 394 positive feedbacks and account since 1998.

So I dunno anymore, maybe we WANT to get sued by fortune 500 types, lol!

Amazing what free advertising from mass mainstream media does for a sale. His 15 minutes have been turned into 15 days.

I guess I just dont see the advantage of paying that much for it.
It didnt even get that much popularity.

Thats a lot of money for nothing really

There are a lot of filthy rich people in this world. You need to titilate their mind:)They may pay any amount for a collectible.

If I'm not mistaken any bid over $15k on Ebay is verified by Ebay, so looks like someone REALLY want to get their hands on this. Smart kid! :)

Look at the history on some of these bidders. They have only bought (or sold) items that are $1 to $100. Suddenly they are doing 5-6 digit figure offers.

Does ebay EVER have $100k+ sales on non-bigticket items? I really think they need a cap to make the place look sane.

Of course my respect for eBay drops everytime I see stuff like this :)
