I warn you now, Don't order from Mein Hosting.
Not only are they asking me to pay £5.00 just to get one database backup, they don't understand my point. This is a issue between the owner of the reseller account and Mein Hosting. Mein Hosting clames that there is 12 people out of about 50 being involved with 'illegal activity'. I don't belive that that many would do that.

Basicly Mein Hosting wants extra money through putting 50 peoples at ransom.
There support is poor, they have canned replies to do with what the first person had typed.

All I wanted to do is move my files over to a new host when I found out I left a database behind, I need this for my forum. Or should I say mein files and mein forum.

Save the worry, don't buy from Mein Hosting.

Same here, except I used forum dollars on another forum. Funny thing is, I told him to refund my "money" everyday and he just ignored me. Then I told him the account was canceled, he came up with an excuse. Then all of the sudden he refunded me.

I confronted Hasif on the forum I was talking about (I'm a mod there)
After I bought the hosting from him, I found the thread about him on NP. His account was suspended because of excessive warning points, and he was offering hosting on the other forum in exchange for NP$, so I asked him how he was planning on doing that, with a suspended account. He said that his name wasn't hasif on NP (even though everything matched, including his username on my forum) and when I called him out, he said RJ let him get another username. Very confusing, I'm just glad I got the refund. I'm going to go make sure he doesn't get any more sales on that forum.

Oh and by the way, there are several threads, 6 or 7 in the last couple of months over at WHT, bashing MeinHosting bigtime for poor support and general reliability.

just found another little piece of information over at WHT, about 5 months ago the sistercompany of Meinhosting, Meinwebsever was hacked and every reseller account/hosting account was lost wich was like 5000 resellers. That's when they started to send their customers over to meinhosting and tried to make them sign up there.

In all possible ways red lights and alert bells are ringning when I see this company name!

I've done more research as well, and found this company has one bad reputation, I have no idea why the ebay trader ratings aren't harsher.

So far, I've tried to contact LT as well on behalf of Daniel, and hopefully the victims should get a response...

Not sure about legal action, since lost files are irreplaceable. Just make sure you DON'T give in to their demands, they most likely won't return any files even if you pay their "fee".

I managed to find a 10 day old backup.
I restored that and my site is up and running without over 50 posts, 10 topics and 4 members but what can you do!

I left this guy a message when everything was done:

"Your nothing but a stupid scammer,
Try searching for Mein Hosting on Google and look at what you find.

You lie on the Whois about where you live, Malasia is no where near Austria.

That's because the buyers from eBay usually leave their feedback after they've received the hosting, and when you receive your hosting just as you expected, you are very likely to leave positive feedback. When these buyers find that the services and support are poor and the uptime is ridiculous, they can't change their feedback at eBay, so then more and more potential buyers are sucked into the scam when they find that the seller has alot of positive feedback.
