I have just forayed into the .tv domain market and am currently developing a couple of my .tv domains using me.tv.
Now my question is that, is it possible to face copyright issues if i simply grab videos from youtube etc.?
The fact is that some of these videos might be copywritten, but if its not mentioned anywhere on youtube, can that be termed as a copyright violation?

anything is possible these days.

Best policy - do not post copyrighted materials.

Youtube takes down copyrighted videos, they do not send a C&D. If you have a removed video posted it just says video unavailable when you click it.

It's my understanding that you can link to anything on the Internet unless you have been told specifically NOT to. Embedding a video does not mean you own the video content, nor are you uploading it. Embedding is just another way of linking. It seems if anyone would be in the line of liability, it would be whoever is serving the video. ChannelME currently supports embedding with their "Grab This" tool by AcceptableTv, BlipTv, Break, BrightCove, CollegeHumor, CurrentTv, DailyMotion, eHow, ExpertVillage, Flowgo, FunnyOrDie, Google Video, Grouper, iFilm, MadBlast, MetaCafe, MySpace Videos, NationalBanana, PromQueen, Revver, Veoh, ViewUrSelf.com, Yahoo! Video and YouTube.

I'm not a lawyer and don't speak for Demand Media. Your best bet is to refer to your Terms of Service at http://www.[your domain name].tv/termsofuse.html

Actually there is a case of a site that only links to illegal content. They were charged. I dont remember the details of the story. It happened in Great Britian if im not mistaken.
