3Par posted the May LLLL reg stats and graph to DYYO a couple days ago. He usually posts it here too, but I guess not this month. So I'll take the honor.

Total 4 letter domain registration in May is 6528. The domains dropped are 2733. The available number decreases by 3795 to a total of 37445.

Currently almost every domain contains JQVXYZ. It seems that people think KUW are the second tier letters.

You can get the current stat of available 4 letter domain names by clicking browse. But keep in mind that at least five big registrars are constantly testing four letter donain traffic, this number showed by browse can be signnificantly lower than real registration. At one time, we observed that almost all domains started with 'A/B/C/D' are all registered.

This big fluctration is the reason we publish the registration/remaining trend five or six days after. It also accounts for the big number of daily drop domains on our site. And some names can show up on the list again and again, as they are tested and deleted by those registrars many times.
Looking at DYYO now, I see that availability has dropped even further to 31,583 (though this # includes traffic testing).

Any decreases in the number of available LLLL.com will be great news for LLLL holders..

good news, though I was hoping a faster rate. On the other hand I am hoping
a slower rate so that I could pick up more.

hmmm interesting...defaults:
V = Virtual
Q = Quality
X = ~ emphasis
Z = Zone
Y = Young, Yield
...but it is J, K, U which give the most trouble

I am now trying to use K as K = Key, so that's one to put in the list.
U really is a stretch...U = Ultimate, Urban?
I can only make J work with P as in JP = Japan which is fine.

For K, if you go down the Scrabble for other languages:
http://lllh.com/Scrabble.htm

K came up pretty at the top. So K overall is a good letter (average over
other languages). Also a lot of radio and tv station has k in the
acronym.

J as journal http://JofH.com
also jpeg as joint. Jeff, Jiff. I agree that jp is a good one, I have
http://sjpn.com for example.

for listing combos of ending 2 letters together eg **UK.com the dyyo machine is excellent and gives a good indicator of how the pool is shrinking...it appears to have slipped below the 35K horizon even post-tasting.....
