January new registration is 5647. The available number goes down by 3312. Looks like the decline ratio of 4 letter domains settled down to 3000 per month since last October.

The big news last month is that all domains started with 'A' are registered, except for a few random drops. On the letter quality side, all domains contain only the so-called 17 good letters along with 'K' are all gone; and those with 'W' are almost gone. It is quite encouraging to see that random 4 letter domain, even that contains 'Q/X/Y/Z', can be sold at registration fee on Ebay.

there are other little pockets of disappearance eg there is nothing cn** or **cn, so somebody has cleaned out the China code 4Ls....so there is the possibility of creating a niche approach to registrations which might be considered by those working out a strategy (assuming someone has not already scooped up your idea)

Just sold Zupy.com this week for $1,100 I invested in LLLL.coms before the mad rush for them and have done very well. I have not sold one for less then $350. Then again they were all pronouncable cvcv or vcvc. If you have decent ones that are pronouncable, hold on to them unless you get a real good offer.

awhile back when I did the same thing with my avuw site, I remember people starting to pick out state abbrevs it would be interesting to see what those are doing now.

Unfortunately I came into the 4 letter game way too late. Still got a couple pronouncable ones, but I hope to sell these at higher than reg fee. I hope that once all LLLL.com are bought their value will rise a bit.

None of us will ever live to see the day when every random LLLLL.com has supernormal value. Once LLLL.com is saturated, I reckon people will move onto either .info or .net collecting; in fact that is already happening to a lesser degree. I personally hope its .info... because it's cheaper.

Forgot this important number. At 2/1, the total registration is 55770. Due to traffic testing, the available pool will be below 50K at the end of this month. So very close to 10%.
