Hi guys,
I am creating a "mashup" using google maps API and craigslist listings very similar to the link below:
http://housingmaps.com/
The site basically is a google map with a bunch of craigslist apartment listings on it. Data is pulled from craigslist RSS feeds.
My question is, what are the legalities of selling "featured" points on the map to go along with the "free" listings that are pulled automatically from craigslist RSS feeds?
I have searched the google maps API TOS and cannot find anything that warrants against using their API in this manner, but I could be looking right at it and not even know.
http://www.google.com/apis/maps/terms.html
http://www.craigslist.org/about/terms.of.use.html
Any information and tips would be greatly appreciated.
I have asked some coworkers about this and they tell me to go for it, considering that I am "selling a 'service'". As programmers they may be a bit biased though.
