Hi,

I am just wondering how come the market for smaller (almost unused) tld's such as .li and similar are so unused. Is there absolutely no potential in them? Considering the fact that I can find plenty of 2-character .li's, why are people not registering them? I could start doing that, but considering no one else is doing it, I assume there is no market for them.

What's your takes on this? Shouldn't any domain with a total of 4 characters (let's say dp.li) be worth something? If so, why not?

Well, if you are not from Liechtenstein, using a .li would look just odd.
Just like .cc is a gadget extension.
Would you buy a .li for your business ?

They are not valuable because the local market is so limited. The same holds true for many other ccTLDs.

AFAIK the rules for .li are exactly the same as .ch (same registry): 3 characters minimum.

Considering the fact that it's almost impossible to find decent domains in the .com and everything below that in value, I assume you start stepping down, and business.li should be worth at least something. But it isn't?

The big question is: can a stellar keyword offset a 'poor' extension ?
If the above was true, we would be visiting .li or .whatever domains on a daily basis.
