Man Goes Bankrupt Building Starship Voyager Home

Tony Alleyne, the man who turned his apartment into the Star Trek Starship Voyager has gone bankrupt. He started transforming his apartment after his wife left him when he replaced the refrigerator with a 'warp coil'.

Man. I'm not a Trekkie but I've read/watched too much sci-fi because I think this is awesome. I always thought it would be neat to do something like that. But going bankrupt to do it? I don't know. If his goal was to sell this I think his site should have been more focused on design and modular pieces.

Undoubtedly he went beyond what he could afford, but it gives you an idea of what can be accomplished if you have the money.. not sure I'd want a replica Star Trek "set" tho!

I will admit its a cool "idea", but to actually say, "hmm, pay my bills, make my house look like star trek, yeah, bills can wait!" thats just sad! thats going to far.
How do you let something like that consume you so much, that you forget about the "real" world.

That is over the top and looks awesome,Iam not really much on the trekky stuff,But he did an awesome job.Going way over budget to bankruptcy was pretty crazy though.

Like I said, he should've focused on modular pieces. Then people could buy molded wall paneling or some of the nifty lighting for doorways and such without having to go full conversion and sacrifice the general comfort level of your living space.

That wasn't really the case at all. He wasn't some crazy, whacked-out Star Trek fan who lost sight of all reality. He just made a bad business decision and overestimated the potential of the project, that's all.

I think he tried to sell or did sell a couple years ago. It was listed on ebay.
