Domain names like WebMonkey.com, PDFzone.com and most recently ConstitutionUS.com are all aged domain names that went for big money at auction. These domain names were all aged, with a solid backlink profile and strong in other metrics like domain authority and trust flow. Richard Patey published a very good article on the topic for anyone interested in building sites on aged domains. … [Read more...]

I think it's worth mentioning that when buying aged domains with backlinks and authority, they should be redeveloped with relevant content, otherwise the backlinks and authority will likely quickly disappear.

Aged Names have good backlinks ,DA,PA that's why people buy them for higher prices and develop them easy for ranking on Google...
I acquired FitPalsApp.com 6 years old domain easy traffic on it...

Aged domains matter more to domain in investors, not so much end-users i don't think.

Casino dot com has a registration date 2017 (not sure why), i don't think that will ever effect the price too much, it's a 8 figure domain asset.

I see that it was registered On: 1997-12-31 not 2017.

Right, this article is about developing, the people involved in the article are not domain investors but rather website builders and website investors.

The other way they 'charge' money by simply selling backlinks from their website. You price whatever you want if you have a good DA and TF website.

That's odd. I'm seeing a registration date of 1997-12-31T05:00:00Z on ICAAN's Domain Name Registration Data Lookup (whois.net appears to be down at the moment).

The ICANN registration's creation date would probably be the correct one.

    For casino/com
The registry reports a registration date of 1997-12-31T05:00:00Z
While the registrar reports 2017-06-29; The difference is there. If the registrar doesn't report the same registration date, it doesn't create much issues but some whois services will show you the registry data and others the registrar's
For the registration date, the registry should be the most accurate though, here it would be 1997
