"Macho Man" Randy Savage, a professional wrestler who became a fan favorite thanks to his outlandish outfits and trademark catchphrase, died Friday in a car wreck, as first reported by TMZ.

The 58-year-old Savage reportedly suffered a heart attack while driving his 2009 Jeep Wrangler in Tampa, Fla., and careened across lanes of oncoming traffic before colliding head-on with a tree. He died later at a local hospital.

I don't watch wrestling as much anymore but I liked Eddie Guerrero, Chris Benoit, and 'Macho Man.' All 3 are now gone. It's a sad day for wrestling :p

Soap Opera for sports fans...

Back in the day, Randy was a headliner.

It's a shame he had to go out like that.

RIP

Peace,
Cy

In his feeble mind he forgot the saying was "snap into a Slim Jim" not crash into a tree limb! Oops!

Definitely the end of an era and one of the original greats from the original WWF! R.I.P. Macho Man!

Definitely a sad and tragic ending, not to mention the end of an era. One of the true greats from the original WWF days. That's WWF before world wildlife fund took the name from them.

R.I.P. Macho Man!

I always enjoyed watching the Macho Man and thought he was a great entertainer. Miss those days of all the old school wrestlers! RIP Randy!

I don't watch WWE as much as I did now either since the days of the great ones such as Stone Cold, The Rock, Benoit, Mick Foley, Guerrero, Hulk Hogan, Savage, etc. I was always a fan of Benoit too and I was actually within 15 feet of Chris down at Disney World 6 years ago and wish I would have gotten a picture with him.

We were sitting down while taking a break and all of a sudden we spotted a group of people so went over to see what was going on and it was Benoit with a group of fans gathered around him. He made direct eye contact with my bro-in-law and myself when we walked up. We also saw Edge and Mick Foley as well so there must have been a WWE event going on in the area. When we were leaving Magic Kingdom my bro-in-law went to the car behind ours on the monorail to be funny and yelled to my sister and myself when he was getting on, "Come sit with Mick Foley!" and we thought he was joking around with us...until we stopped at one of the resorts and saw Mick walk past the window.
