MACAUPOKER.TV

is in auction at Sedo.com. I received one bid for $120.00 and placed it at auction. My past domain sales have all been privately sold. So it it interesting to see how it ends. The name is not just a good keyword for gambling, it is the keyword.

Is it normal for a name that has been up for auction only a couple days to have 160 Sedo visitors to it? Seems like great interest, or maybe those who own a simalar .tv name are watching.

Auction ends;
Sunday at 7:pm EST. July 17/07.

Wish me luck.

Thanks

Name reached $601.

I am pretty happy, not a end user price, but better than the $120.00 that started the Sedo auction.

sold another name last week for $1,000. ( a dot come) and buyer has paid for it already! Beers all the way around.

the Sedo auction closed today at $601. for the macaupoker.tv

Not a end user price, but better than the $120.00 that started the auction.

Hmm, maybe I will reg more .tv

I was not sure what the value was, but I am pretty happy for a return on a 6 month name registration. I do know one thing, seems alot of excitement is building for the .tv. If it continues, whoever bought this macaupoker.tv name will do good by their purchase. Nice couple of days for me, I just sold a .com this week for $1,000 and the buyer has already paid!

I have not sold anything thru Sedo until now, so it does give me a better image of them. I have never had any problems or anything, just no transaction to judge by.

For any of you who have had names sold thru Sedo is there anyway you can see the bidding history? I was away from the computer when the sale went thru so I could not follow the bids. I followed the link thru the Sedo announcement that my name sold and it shows the progression of the sale, but no place to see how or who bought the name. I sure wanted to see the progression of bids. They sure are secretive there, lol.

Many thanks for the encouragement everyone. May there be .tv domain sales for all!

Could have got more $

Just a update,

out of curiosity I had placed the name into the Sedo auction as I own many Macau names and I wanted to get a feel for values for Macau names. If you are like me you are interested in the first Macau names sold as that will give us a idea of Macau names worth in this early stage of Macu. It sold for $601. in that auction.

After the auction I received a pm from a member here stating that the person would have paid me $1,500 for the name macaupoker.tv if they would have seen it at the auction!.

Well I may have missed the extra income, it is nice to know though that others are seeing the value of the Macau domains, especially the .tv extension.

Well done, I was happy to hear that for you. I thought you would of got a lot more for it if it was marketed in Asia, but hey a nice profit and your happy. Thats the main thing :)... I have the new spelling of macaopoker.tv and 4 more to the "Set" if your guy who PMd you is interested - 10% for you BTW, for posting it here, as its on topic..I hope you dont mind, as your deal is done. :). cheers.

Showbiz,

thats a great catch. I can see the marketing people now getting the campaign ready to place on tv. Sure Macau right now is all about the Chinese gambler who is forbidden from gambling in his own country. So they travel a hour by boat to Macau to do what they love.

They are the most dedicated gambler in the world and that will lift Macau to even greater heights. Hard to believe what is happening in Macau. History has been re-written now that Macau is churning the big bucks.

Only a few years ago Macau had no casinos or gambling. In less than five years that tiny country has churned more gambling revenues than the whole of Vegas combined. Think of all the slots, poker, and tournaments in Vegas.

When you think it took over fifty years for Vegas to build its empire, you can really understand the vigor of this tiny gambling mecca on the other side of the globe.

If the name can be placed in front of the right marketing agency I think your name is worth big dollars. When promoters get their act together and start offering package deals to Macau, you will have many calling.

Bdm1,

Well thats a good catch. I am not an expert on the matter of people searching Macau or if they would search Macao. My thinking is Macau will win with that. But then your name is also a plus in that it can be easily branded. Good luck. The member is a member here and she very well may read you have the name for sale.

I just don't know how to market my name in front of the Asia market, so that is why I went to the Sedo auction. People who know more than me about .tv may think the name went for a fair price. I just had no idea as I was involved in .mobi much more than the .tv.

Learning of .tv success is going to benefit me. As I see names go for better and better prices that will only add fuel to the fire I guess. Thanks for your generous offer though and I will support your names.

I agree with you Rod and yes I personally think Macau is the main, but anything related to the name macao seems to be on topic and some of the government offices still use the old/new spelling. Macao is used very widely such as: www.macaodaily.com/ , http://www.sands.com.mo/ , http://go.hrw.com/atlas/norm_htm/macao.htm (map) , http://www.wto.org/english/thewto_e/countries_e/macao_china_e.htm , even the monetry authority of Macao use that spelling http://www.amcm.gov.mo/ etc etc... Also in the city is written Macao everywhere..

Im not trying to say you arent right, but it is half a dozen of one and 6 of the other... thats why I bought:

emacau.tv
Imacau.tv
Macaocasinos.tv
Macaohotels.tv
Macaopoker.tv
Macaoproperty.tv
Macaorealestate.tv
Macaotravel.tv

Thanks for letting me be invloved in your thread and once again congrats, great profit on a small investment.

I have had a PM from the member already, anyone else interested please PM with offers... Thanks again Rod and if I sell them via the other member, I still wont forget you. :)

Those are nice picks and I bet you will do well with them. I also own some Macao names. I know the area has mcuh history being called Macao. City and government will continue to use Macao. I think promoters and the public will know the place as Macau.

Nobody would turn down some extra cash, but in this case you certainly do not owe me. Glad to help in some little way. I know I sure get it here.
