Lyft.com traffic leakage. Lyft customers are visiting lift.com.

Lift.com is owned by Otis Elevators. The domain forwards to their site if you visit using the full URL: https://www.lift.com

Rationalizing the purchase of a lesser expensive domain by thinking the name is "cool" because the misspelling goes against convention is pervasive. Despite this research it will be tough to break new entrepreneurs from this bad habit.

Still one of the best interviews with someone that had insight and conviction into spending a very large sum of money on a domain is with Jamie Siminoff on his purchasing of Ring dot com. You cant argue with success of this magnitude.

"In recent years..." Hardly. "Unconventional" spelling and wordplay has been a branding tactic since the birth of modern marketing.

Duz detergent. Kool cigarettes.

"Finast was a retail supermarket brand that started in the northeastern United States, with headquarters in Somerville, Massachusetts. Finast was an acronym for FIrst NAtional STores."

Founded: 1853.
