According to a recent UDRP decision:

https://www.wipo.int/amc/en/domains/search/text.jsp?case=D2019-2391

the lotto.com domain name was acquired for USD $2.68 million:

The Respondent contends that the Complaint fails on all three grounds and should be dismissed. It disputes the Complainant’s title to the Trademarks and its entitlement to bring proceedings under any of them. It adds that the word “lotto” is entirely descriptive. It has already used the disputed domain name for well over a year as the URL for a website directed to consumers in the United States of America (“United States”). It purchased the disputed domain name for USD 2.68 million and has invested heavily in developing a website that will trade lawfully in the United States.

Using the WHOIS history via DomainTools, this transaction appears to have taken place in 2017. If confirmed by DNJournal, it would rank as the 2nd highest publicly reported domain name transaction for that year:

As an aside, I can prefix stories as either "purchases" or "sales" in this forum. But, every "purchase" is also a "sale"!! Maybe create a new prefix of "transactions"??

I never bought a lotto ticket, but I did buy BoGoLotto.com because it sounded better than the "lotto" names sold for many thousands of dollars recorded at Namebio. If lotto.com is worth 2.68M, one might think BoGoLotto.com would be worth 5.36M:xf.rolleyes:

Oh yes for sure, one might think that. If they were smoking crack all day and night maybe.

Have you ever been to the BoGoCasino? That's where you buy one cuff link and get the other one free:xf.wink:

I remember the Good Old Days when "restricted" actually meant RESTRICTED.

You love Lotto.com. You failed to acquire it, leaving it to sit there for years until 2017, even though you've been making billions of Euros off Lottery business. Then someone else acquired it for millions of USD, only for you to come out to try and claim it for free.

Shame to Bremer Toto und Lotto GmbH.
