Looking for small web host package with WHOIS protected domain

Hi guys,

I'm looking for a small web host package (1GB or less) with MySQL and PHP for a WordPress blog.

I found some providers, but they don't offer a WHOIS protected domain.

The cheapest way for a domain I found is InternetBS, but no hosting there...

GoDaddy is to expensive for my little blog and Wordpress.com doesn't offer plugins for WordPress...

So maybe someone knows a good and cheap small package for my needs.

Don't keep your domain and your hosting at the same company. Get your domain with internet.bs and find some cheap hosting elsewhere.

Isn't it extra work to transfer the domain name to a hosting companies nameservers?

I don't know, if they already have the hosting package where you bought the domain name, and the price is ok and service alright?
Price isn't everything. Service is of value.

No, atm I don't have a package. I'm at Wordpress.com, but like I said, I miss the plugins.

Because if you have a dispute with a hosting company, they can hold your domain hostage.

Also, ALWAYS sign up for the domain in your own name and email address. Never sign up for a package where you don't have complete control over your domain.

Best to keep them separate.

Do you have a specific budget? Are you looking to pay monthly or yearly? Some hosts will include a free domain depending on the payment term you choose, so if you can afford a yearly payment you'll be able to get a much better rate.

there isn't anything to "transfer". You're simply pointing the nameservers to the new hosting account.

For example, you login to your internet.bs control panel and update the nameserver entry from ns1.examplehosting.com to ns1.otherhosting.com

Easy, and takes all of three minutes.


That way, if you decide to change to a new hosting company, you don't have to transfer your domains anywhere. Also, if your old hosting company decides you owe an extra month for hosting they won't keep your domain name hostage.

It's way more of a hassle to go through a 3-7 day transfer process when you change hosting instead of a 3 minute nameserver entry.

Whois is offered by the domain owner. The cheapest is at name.com ... where is free
namecheap.com - free only for the first year.

You don't have to take hosting from the domain provider.
For example you can take the domain with who is any buy hosting from me ( PM if you really want it )
