So far 2009 has..well..sucked! (in terms of sales). I've been sending out end user emails and getting some wild replies, but the one I just got takes the cake.

Earlier this morning I realised a HUGE, VERY well known company has the .org version of a .net I own. I thought, what the heck, you never know..then sent off my email pitch to them.

Well I just got word back from this HUGE, VERY well known company (I'm alittle honored to have even been noticed, hehe) telling me if this had been a few years ago, they would be interested, but since they no longer "host" for the leadership program for which their .org was established, they are in fact not interested....As a matter of fact, the leadership program has since gone with a .com name and they (the huge, very well known co.) will eventually be transfering the .org to the leadership program....IF they want it.

He then ended his email asking if I myself would be interested in buying the name if the leadership program doesn't want it *lol*

The hunter has now become the hunted!

I guess EVERYONE is trying to make a buck,
any way they can!
...even the large very well known company's.

Good Luck to you Jingles!
Your next sale will blow us all away!!!

Happens all the time. In fact, I did the same thing to a person not too long ago. I own the .com version. He came knocking trying to sell me the .net for a mere $200 usd telling me it would really help my brand. Since it was not my brand and just a regular old LLLL I replied: "Why don't I just sell the .com to you for $150, then you will have this great package!" I never got a reply..

Don't worry Amy you are not the only one not getting end user sales yet this year! Good luck and keep up the hard work.. :tu:

This has happened to me before as well. I tried pitching a generic two word .net to a cruise company that owned the .biz - and then they turn around and try to sell their .biz for MORE than what I was selling the .net for

I've had it happen to me a couple times. In fact just earlier this week. Pitched a two-word generic keyword .com to someone who owned the .us and he called me and tried to sell me on his entire portfolio. :/

ripley.

I sent an email to enduser few weeks ago asking whether they like to own their company’s generic brandname keyword+keyword.com
He replied me “I already have great domain keyword+keyword+geo.com”
