No fb, so I'm assuming they're not what you are looking for.

I've seen it too many times that CHs get overwhelmed by the number of entries and as a result choose not to leave fb. So, while you may be waiting for more entries (like many CHs I've seen), you never know you just might get bombarded with entries and do exactly what I've seen countless times on other forums that host logo design contests.

And the very least any CH can do for a designer who takes the time to aid in making their contest a success by creating and designing a creative for the CH's business, is to take the time to leave fb. I'm not saying that you weren't planning on leaving fb, but you did for the first entry and the next time you come on is not to leave fb, rather to say, keep them coming (in your other words). You could've used that time to leave fb. But keep what coming?

What kind of news is your site discussing. Worldwide News, local news, Entertainment news, etc.? So, more news like logos is not very clear. Even when you look at the World and Local news stations their logos don't look "newsy" (not a word, I know :hehe:). Can you give some examples? Verbally express your vision to the designers so you get what you are going to be paying for. One could an alert sign, since news is to alert the public. What direction are you going?

Moreover, I've seen that if a CH likes the design(s) s/he will leave fb, if not s/he will not leave fb. And that's just who they are: taking people's time for granted. Hey, you have people like that in this world, unfortunately. This way of leaving fb is what I see happen more times than not.

Feedback (and no beating around the bush kind of fb, otherwise, you might as well not say anything, be forward and honest...there's nothing wrong with constructive critism) is crucial because it helps the CH get exactly what they are looking and having to pay for (and unlike some other forums, here on NP, you have to pick a winner, regardless). CH's on NP and other forums tend to forget what's harder: creating a design with very little information or giving feedback only to get rejected without any appreciation for their time and/or efforts.

I said all of that because I've seen it, too, where CHs will turn around and defend themselves by stating they are new to holding contests, blah, blah, blah. Well, if you happened to be one of them, well here it is in a big nutshell.

Forums contests are held slightly different than offline contests. In that, you get chances to improve your designs by way of fb given.

Again, I have no idea if the designs were in the right direction. But I had fun designing them.

To BEAVER6183:

Thanks for your fb/compliments/comments. You know, I thought so, too, after I designed it, however, mine is a web 2.0 callout bubble to represent discussion. It was placed behind NEWS because that's what would be discussed on Fritz's site and the callout bubble was towards the term "discussed." Maybe I should've incorporated both terms inside of it versus one or utilized another callout bubble shape. Well, maybe someone else can do it.

And Congrats in advance to the winner.
