Right on Carlitos, and combine that with the fact that once the host says "I like x and y", every designer will start incorporating x and y. That's the way it should be.

Suprastan, you go on and hold more contests! We need more hosts who are active, pay on time and provide good feedback like you.

If I could tell you how many times its happened to me in the past 10 years it would boggle your mind...

Check out the font and the treatment of the photo used in this contest...but you don't see me pitching a fit. Same font, same rotation, same color, same photo treatment

But it's not about what the person did previously. It's about what he has done now. Right now, I can't see how the logo is copying at all the idea. He has a snowman. Big Whoop. There are majopr differences between his and the other person involved.

His has a face, is more cartonish, is not shiny, is not blue, doesn't have a hat etc.

What he did before/doing now still has no relevance to this particular contest. It's up to the CH to decide whether he deserves to win or not, and if OurPortfolio is known for copying, then some CHs may decide to ignore his entries. Clearly, right now, the CH is not aware of this, and the entry made to me, and others, seems to be valid, and not 'copying' anyone at all.

Though I can see where you are coming from, "Once a plagiarist, always a plagiarist" and all that, but I hope we can just let this go, and maybe in future, point out when you think someone's copying or not, before the contest has ended, if possible.

Woah, Woah, Woah! ... Im not known for "copying" anything, first of all. I was gonna completely ignore this thread cause it just has no point, but I'm obviously getting accused of something I'm not. I apologize if dzynd4u feels that I "used" his idea to win the contest, but I didnt, if he doesnt want to believe that then that's his fault.

Now, xpressions as far as the other contest in SitePoint, I used those "Play" and "Pause" buttons because the Contest Holder specifically asked me to, so if you do not have your information straight, then dont accuse other poeple. I see that your entry on that contest, Entry Link was the first to use the "Play" Button Concept ... After you how many entries from other Designers used the same concept? About 7 (excluding me) - How come you're not accusing them of the same thing? This is complete bullshit and I'm pretty pissed at the fact that you people are accusing others of something without the complete facts ...

I appreciate Carlitos & Abu Gabby for the support. I want to make it known that I dont have a Rep for copying other - this is in fact the first time that I am accused of something like this, and quite frankly it doesn't feel right. Im glad that you two can see that the Snowman Idea is a theme that goes with the Logo Design made here and that my Design is way too different for it to be actual "copying" or anything of that sort.

Okay....I never thought this would become a major issue, but now I will help support OurPortfolio. I remember when I started designing logos and people would take my idea. I got frustrated and never complained because thats what the contest holder is looking for. For example, if someone said "I wanted the font to be blue" and someone had the same color as your design, it's not copying, it's what the contest holder is looking for. He wants that specific color and nothing else because it matches his website. This is all I have to say and I hope people can grasp my point that I'm trying to explain. Keep up the good work OurPortfolio and good luck to everyone on other upcoming contests.
