I'm not sure how people can believe the crap that sites like Chaomi.cc and 111.co spit out... I mean the price hikes are based on single sales, the "current values" per venue stay the same (flat lines) as there are no sales and people figure that has to be the a new floor.

I think chaomi only gets data from 22.cn and ename but for those two websites it's 100% accurate and the price shown is based on many sales that happen in China. For .orgs for example if you scroll down on this page: http://www.chaomi.cc/ym/1/5 you can see many sales that happened in the last hours at the base price(currently 268-272 rmb)

I know. My problem is that they list price hikes based on individual sales. I mean what if some Chinese investor buys a domain for a higher price because it's pinyin or has some meaning to him? Well, those sites list it as the new current value for all domains for that pattern and tld. In my opinion the data is as skewed as Namebio's +$100 sales reports, were new investors think anything is worth over $100.

I thought I need to add a little clarification to this statement, in case some of you don't know. Both 22.cn and eName conduct proxy auctions for domains being auctioned off on marketplaces in the west, so some of the sales data probably comes from places like NameJet, DropCatch, Pheenix, GoDaddy, etc. They use many bidder aliases such as First, TwoTwo, etc.

Yes, its not the average of the last day for example or something like that, it moves along with the latest few sales but if dddd.org suddenly sells for $500 the chart won't move to $500 until more sales can back this up.
