This domaining sector offers potentially larger returns than traditional revenue or traffic based domain names, however with this investment opportunity comes extravagant risk.

Just took a VCVC: IWIH,net. It was a first drop from today, someone using dynadot registered it, but it was just dropped from that dynadot account... :alien:

I dropped it, after I got it I didn't like it as much since the h isn't pronounceable.

I do this often so be on the lookout. :D

On 16/05/08 there were 206,953. Now there are almost 2000 gone in 2 months and 2 days from that time.

This is the timeline you need to calculate the countdown. Months. 1000 per month roughly. That means (mathematically) another 204 months.

I do not want to critic the value of LLLL.net's, some are sold to end users (though rarely), but the title of this thread ... LLLL.net countdown seems a bit unrealistic.

Those who read my posts pages earlier, know I am not a fan of these (especially in a weak LLLL.com market), but my point is that the title of the thread is a bit off.

Especially in the new market conditions with hundreds of new tld's waiting to come (these will affect weaker extentions surely, don't know about .net).

You need to raise some questions, for a serious discussion about these, and especially about weaker LLLL.net's, because these types of names are left.

All who invest here, would do a great job to reassess these, see if the weaker quality ones have any future, and to think who would they sell to, in the conditions of a weaker aftermarket, where there are far more sellers than those looking to buy (domainers not end users). And those that have hundreds of better LLLL.net should post how many end user sales they had, and see if these sales, combined with parking revenue would be enough to cover next year's renewals.

I would like to see a discussion like this here. I do not have any bad intentions, just want to see an exchange of thoughts, because market prices are driven by profit. If a niche is profitable, than that niche is liquid too, and has value.

I agree with You: FULL LLLL.net countdown seems unrealistic, but I believe that my LLLL.net is best of the best. :)
I have sold ALL my crap LLLL.com five months ago and have received 2000% profits, but now I count only on end user for my best LLLL.net :imho:
It is already given has come countdown for good LLLL.net - be not late!!!
I live in small country where almost all want domains with .LV extension but also to have main extension .COM or and, it is even better,: .NET
(sorry for my bad English)

All Quad Premium LLLL.net's already gone and i see many threads in Domain Names Wanted Forum requesting for quad premium LLLL.net's. So that gives guarantee that you can sell your quad premium LLLL.net's for more than your reg fee... This shows that the Countdown has begin..... :!

This is a common mistake. I would say that there are more LLLL.net end-user sales than LLL.net and LLLL.com end-user sales. Just check the proper thread, compare it with DNJournal report, add small LLLL.net sales below 1000$ and you will see the picture. Number of end-user LLLL.com sales is also bigger than number of LLL.com end-user sales.

But LLLL.net countdown is unrealistic of course, especially now when LLLL.coms prices slightly sloped. I think we will be back to this countdown perhaps in 2010-2012. The countdown of LLLL.nets is unrealistic and also harmful to overall domain industry. I own some LLLL.coms that greatly increased in value after their LLLL.net coutnerpart was developed! Let's leave non-premium LLLL.nets for end-users for regfee! :)

On the other hand countdown of quad-premium LLLL.nets is already fact and their prices are definitely above regfee and some high quality LLLL.nets have 4-7 regfees in value. This is isolated category of LLLL.nets that lives by its own and can prosper even if there is no total LLLL.net countdown.

I am agree with You, simply only it is necessary to Wait!

My approach is 2 tier, 1 sell in bulk to pay for 2, the ones I hold long term.

I like to think of it as gambling with someone elses money. :D
