New Member Disclaimer: Four letter domain names are a relatively new investment category that is only beginning to gain traction in Dotcom. This domaining sector offers potentially larger returns than traditional revenue or traffic based domain names, however with this investment opportunity comes extravagant risk.

I dont know what a lakh means but I like your thinking

4 letter.coms are starting to pick up making regging these things worthwhile. Hopefully this trend will continue and the buyout will happen sooner than we expect.

Do you think these will sell out before or after the lowest llll.com reaches over 60?

Hey, you never know what is going to happen with the LLLL.com market...It could be a bubble market that is soon going to fail, or it could get better...You just can't assume...

thats true you cant assume anything in any market. I just don't think people will have to much incentive to buy the lower quality domain names if the llll.com market doesn't pick up. IMHO

cool info re lakh
wikipedia said:
A lakh (also written lac) is a unit in the Indian numbering system, widely used both in official and other contexts in Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Myanmar and Pakistan. One lakh is equal to a hundred thousand, i.e. (10^5). The word's use in the English language is particularly notable: In articles written for Indian audiences where the author is referring to the number 10^5, the otherwise common expression "(a) hundred thousand" is almost never used; almost always the word lakh is used instead.

interesting to note lakh.net has been regged since 2003 while lakh.com was created only 10 months before that in 2002 :)

IMO it's going to be slow going for LLLL.net registrations for a while yet, possibly well into 2009 ... I would expect pace to increase only after minimum LLLL.com reaches $100 (hopefully by early 2009, but who knows!)

I think the healthiest returns on "non-English premiums" (aka anti-premiums :)) may be something like 5 years out, as more of the rest of the world comes online. People speculating on these combos now should know what they are doing, and be prepared to pay renewal fees for several years. For most domainers, seems like plenty other areas hold better prospects for near-term ROI.

Well, if it were always easy to make money regging line-noise combos, everyone would be doing it :) It took years for LLLL.com to be profitable, and the low-end of that market is still finding its wings. Should be a laugh and a half looking back on how cheap it is now, say 5 years from now .... "interesting times" as they say :)

See, my personal opinion is that the LLLL.net's will not sell out anytime soon. I think that people realized the LLLL.com's with junky letters like ZVUQ.com are domains that no one wants. So why would people go an register LLLL.net's like that if the LLLL.com market has really crashed for those types of domains. And look, I personally hope that the LLLL.net's will end up selling out. As I said before, I have three pretty nice ones in case there is a sellout, and then I can make a couple bucks... But the main point is that smart domainers will probably not be registering non-premium LLLL.net's after seeing the LLLL.com market...

I agree with Jrs completely. Can't see a buyout happening anytime soon, if at all.

Which brings us to the second part of the story, if single/double premiums in LLLL.com are stagnating, what hope is there for LLLL.net of this type, specially considering that .net = 10% of .com?

The smarter investor should know that cvcv - quad premiums and similar names will give a higher ROI than just any LLLL.net.

Exactly, MWZD took the words out of my mouth :) I agree that the only ones that should be registered are the good quality ones! No point in having double/single/non-premium LLLL.net's now that we have seen what has happened to them with the LLLL.com market...

Coming from one who is trying to sell LLLL.net's for 3 times their value.
This is what killed the value of the lower end LLLL.com's, people seeing the market boom and then try and sell JQXV.com for $5,000. I mean granted that I price my names high, but still we have to be reasonable

Are you talking about on Asmro.com the "Domains for Sale"? Because if so, those are 3rd party sellers...And if you are talking about the Domain Portfolio, those are mine, but I just don't want to sell them, unless of course I get a rediculas offer for my LLLL.net's, then I would :) If not any of those, what are you talking about? Thanks!
