This domaining sector offers potentially larger returns than traditional revenue or traffic based domain names, however with this investment opportunity comes extravagant risk.

Hmmm...That is not a large number....If we could get about 400 people to register 500 LLLL.net's, the our buyout is not to far away... :) :) :)

eegr.net is very nice

I'm really starting to doubt llll.nets will sell out even by 09. Just a few K are going per month. Lets hope i'm wrong and they do get bought out quickly though ;)

:) I think we all want a fast buyout...Personally, after seeing the number of LLLL.net's left, I am feeling a little more optimistic for a buyout sometime soon...Only 200,000 left about, and lots of people registering hundreds a day...

I like chasing pronounceables but haven't been finding any lately. We are re-evaluating things. Picking out 100 or so keepers and start moving the rest. don't want to get hit with thousands in renewal fees early next year.

purchased another CVCV, jifa.net.
I see plenty of pronounceables for sale, even for registration (with U or Y)

This is logical. Average reseller price for quad-premium LLLL.net currently is 12$ (some sell for 9$ and some for 20-30). Nobody backorders them and not all of them are captured by Snapnames. Those that are captured not by Snapnames go to tasters... and them get available for registration. But they are swept immediately. Having more than 800 premium LLLL.nets I'm very confident in this investment just because of.... end user sales :) I will need 4000$ for renewals and I already have 2000$ for renewals from end-user sales during last 6-7 months. Just few more sales and I will have all my portfolio awaiting new times. But I'm ready to invest additional money for renewals without profit within nearest 2-3 years to see them hitting 100$ mark.

ps. Remember quad-premium LLLL.com were selling for just 20-25$ not long time ago. And they were registered 2-5 years ago before they hit even 25$ mark. But remember from domains history that those who can invest and wait (not flip) are biggest winners.

In my book those are not meaningful except maybe civl pronounceable names like gndr, whel, bufr, fhar, byrs, dazd, gavl... Just a few from my stash that pop into my head.

Good luck getting a great ROI on those in a couple of years. Stick to the premiums or CVCV/VCVC

Flipper:
Year 1
500.00 gets 750.00
500.00 gets 750.00

500.00 profit -- bankroll = 1000.00

Year 2
1000.00 gets 1500.00
1000.00 gets 1500.00

1000.00 profit -- bankroll = 2000.00

Year 3
2000.00 gets 3000.00
2000.00 gets 3000.00

2000.00 profit -- bankroll = 5000.00

Year 4 the flipper decides to spend 4000.00 for quality names as a long term investment and take the 1000.00 as seed money for the next project.

Buy and hold:
The other guy spent 500 the first year, 500 to renew year 2, 500 for year 3 and 500 for year 4 for a total investment of 2000. That means he must get at least 4000.00 for the portfolio to 'double out'.

Kicker is the flipper may now own the buy and hold guys names for a total out-of-pocket cost of 0.00.

Pure theory but can work well when practiced right. I am not suggesting flipping high quality and meaningful short names.

Flipping is hard work. These random letters whether premium or anti... ain't nothing special.

Go ahead and rip - to each their own. Building my pottery collection would have never been possible without flipping off the bottom and adding to the top.

P.S. My position may influence my thinking here. At 30-40 years 5-10 years isn't that long but at 65 that is a looooooooong time frame.

I agree with harkster and jrs. Most of the names I have been registering look like cvil or jkes. I hope it will be a good move.
