This domaining sector offers potentially larger returns than traditional revenue or traffic based domain names, however with this investment opportunity comes extravagant risk.

It was only a matter of time... First King Com. Then .CN fell. And now... I present to you LLLL.net :!:

This thread is designed to elicit discussion about LLLL.nets. You're encouraged to post anything you feel is relevant to LLLL.nets in this thread. This includes sales information, new regs, ...

2 of those are premiums. You grabbed them freely available or bought them resale?

Nevermind, I remember those 2 from yesterdays auction. :D
I just wanted to test the waters. Good buy for him and I am not unhappy.
Considering that those auctions are wholesale I didn't notice any LLLL softness but then WTHDIK.

Just picked up GUTR and NCUR. I consider both at least semi pronounceable.

Well, now that you mention it...yes, you'd have to include the CVCV's that begin with "Y," definitely. It hadn't even occurred to me to add those into the final tally, as I was focusing on Y in the V positions. And for the second "V," that's a little more of a toss-up, depending how you're shooting to pronounce it: "TO-YO"...yes; "TOY-O"...not really. But if it came down to it, I'd say count those too, because ultimately, it still results in a catchy, CVCV-type word.

Just had to add to the confusion, huh? ;)

Haha yep. I see all kind of numbers thrown out and many people disagree over which category Y should fall into. The breakdown goes:

10,000 ("true" CVCV, meaning no Y anywhere)
4,400 (Y as vowel)
1,025 (Y as consonant)
= 15,425 if you count all 3 as CVCV

Really though all that matters is the combination of letters. I would take a YODA or TOYA anyday over a "true" CVCV such as QEXU. Although I would agree than "true" CVCV in general tend to be better than those that contain a Y.

Not really, a "Y" at the end makes the name sound catchy, would you prefer "Cody" or "Codu"?
Maybe, its just me but I'd prefer a name that sounds good as at the end of the day, the end-users are what makes the domain industry tick.

There are currently 212,857 LLLL.nets available (as at the 8th March 2008). This is a drop of 99 since 2 days ago *. Hence there's now only 46.58% of the total 456,976 LLLL.nets available. - GFNB.net

Feel free to run a search for available domains :)

* However this includes Glabnet's recent refunded list of 436 domains. I included these all into today's scan, thus the overall registration number has been 535 in 2 days. :)

Well the 10% rule puts at $180. That's more than I'd pay for it right now, but I'd pay $50 for it w/out a second thought.

So I'd say it's reseller value is somewhere in that range.

Do you own it (and want to make a quick 50 bucks) ? :sold:

HI

dddo.net if it was for sale right now would be worth around $100-$180+ reseller... you just need to look on the auction sites what these names are bring now..

I would not sell it... but hold it for 3-5 years..

Thanks

bfluid (Ty)'s live auction should be a perfect opportunity. I already submitted some LLLL.net lots and I suggest you people too do so as soon as possible since he's only allowing a limited number of LLLL.net lots.

are you targeting specific ones ?
I have 100+ quads that i could pick back then when lots still available, so i had many choices, but the fun was over when huge vacuum cleaners came in, swept all those away .... I should've bought more :'(
i will hold these for couple years for sure....
