The worst ones are already starting to "flatten somewhat" recording rather small gains this week in comparison to the past. What we have to remember here is that small relative to the past is not necessarily small relative to the rest of the domain name market. Even with 3% weekly increases (amounting to increases of less than $2 on the worst LLLL.coms), we'd see a min wholesale in excess of $200 within a year...

May be you are right. It might not increase exponentially all the time but definitely more than $20 a year. The 4L.com investors are going to make sure it rises better than $20 a year. :hehe:

By hyping it?

Honestly no. BTW did you miss the LLLL.com train?

be sure of that Lorenzo
unfortunately paypal is the most used online payment and scammers use it; it is like to have money in your hands when you sell a tangible thing but you have so many people falsifying money you just stop selling it/them

thats what happened with LLLL

yes, this is the safest thing you can do but in escrow dot com you pay at least $25 even the name is sold for $75, at moniker you pay the minimum of $50 for sales until $500.99 and at sedo if your name is not listed there for sale you pay 3% of the ammount but you cant use them you want the money quickly

so, escrow services are safe but for most of sales they are very very expensive even if buyer and seller split fees

I have two posts up regarding the development of 100 random LLLL.com's and 100 random NNNNN.com's. It is interesting to see how many LLLL.com's are developed sites (24%) and what a random sample of those sites looks like, and compare it to the NNNNN.com's (46%), which were recently bought out. Assuming the random samples are representative, both types of domains are more developed than I would have thought. Bodes well for future prices.

Voted for $100 to $250 range - Unless LLLL is really good domain, I don't see the price beyond $200.

William that is an NNLL.com (number-number-letter-letter), which is worth less than regfee in most cases.

The noobs who're falling for the scams on ebay are the ones who're going to be hurt imo.

cccc.com is NOT equal to llll.com - never will be in my book.

Be careful what you buy.

We are talking about worst LLLL.coms that are 50$ right now. I vote that their price will be 100-250 but closer to 100$. I would tell that even 100-120$. Of course other categories like triple premium + X,Q,Z,Y and triple-premium+W,V,U,K,J will see higher growth IMHO hitting 200$ and 400$ mark.

Welcome "Noob", 61FT.com is a nice one but not a LLLL.com. Still 7ft.com sold for $4,100 so good luck with yours! Someday, your CCCC may be worth a few hundred.

As for my prediction on LLLL.coms prices in 2009.

I believe that the supply of cheap domains will dwindle down. However, there will still be a few people selling non-premium domains for under $100. These people will be some of the last people whom purchased the domains just before the buyout, so they rationalize their low prices with the fact that they are still making a great profit.

Meanwhile, their will be a large increase of people whom realize the rarity of the domains and its future worth and will choose to hold out for endusers, investors or develop their names themselves. They won't let any name go for less than $2500 and will happily continue to pay the $7 registration fees each year as they watch their portfolio grow in value. Thus, driving up the prices considerably in 2010.
