LLL - What's next?

LLL.com, .net, .org, .info, .biz and .us all taken. I don't know for sure but I'm assuming .de and .co.uk are also taken. By the looks of it, LLL.in will be taken within a few weeks. Canada has fairly strict local requirements and Australia does not allow domain resale.

So, which TLD do you think will be next? I'm struggling to think of another country with a good sized population of English speakers and no local requirements. South Africa might have been a candidate but I think you have to be local? Isle of Man too small. Are .cc and .ws taken already? I've never looked at LLL in those. Three character .MOBI domains are being held back as 'premium domains' and I can't imagine .PRO being emptied anytime soon at $99 per year even if 3 character domains are allowed.

If this is about it, and they're all taken, what next? Ever increasing value on LLL in any decent extension? CCC perhaps in those extensions? .COM of course already taken. .NET seems to be getting popular for CCC. I don't have answers to these questions, nobody does for sure .. but it's fun to speculate and see what others think.

.US domains.US domains
.ws & .tv - not available or available at bad prices. They would go before .cc if they were available at reasonable prices.

My Opinion
.in next
.cn and .cc to follow

Did LLL.be run out?
Is there any other extensions that are cheaper than .cc to register?

Thing is LLL.in isn't consistent... At first a lot were registered and they were hard to find, but then lots began to drop on a daily basis. I own a fair shair of LLL .co.in, and sold my few LLL.in!

People seem to be hyped about .in on these forums and thats why your probably seeing more and more being registered, how long will this last is the question.

BBB.co.in is for sale, any takers? B-)

I think lll .at are going fast with the low pricing... I'm not sure how many are left but almost none with all great letters.

I think the next in line will be .ws, unless another gTLD is released. I say this based on it being wide open for anyone to register and pricing being most in line with others. The .cc may follow, but with pricing generally twice as high, that one could be slower and only the "better ones" cherry picked.

Maybe one of the completely open ccTLD's as well that doesn't put a premium price on LLL's.

I'm a little surprised that most .names aren't taken since they could be used as initial domains for personal use. Probably not business type values, but I'd think a person might be willing to pay $50-60 for their initials for a short email address domain.

There are plenty of .ws LLL to be regged..i doubt they will ever carry any weight in the industry...other than LLL collectors regging them... .ca has the potential to really take off....but will it ever is the question

Eh, thought LLL.ws were premium and cost more? .cc should probably be next. When though is hard to say...I think beyond .in and the other exts already taken, there are no enticing ones.

I agree, after .in the marginal returns to the remaining extensions drop off fairly rapidly...but, heck, I don't even touch .biz myself, so I'm only boundedly rational ;)

.ws is $7.99 at domainsite....when the extension first came out...it had a high price tag for reg.

.in .. undervalued IMO as the domain ext has great potential due to the large number of technically proficient english speaking people there.

Next will be all pronouncable LLLL coms, nets, orgs, infos, bizs, and major cctlds.

Then all the unpronouncable LLLL coms, nets, orgs, infos, bizs, and major cctlds.

Finally all the 'bad letter', unpronouncable LLLL coms, nets, orgs, infos, bizs, and major cctlds.

Apart from nic.ws where LLL.WS are $500/yr, is there any cheaper place to buy LLL.WS?
