Thanks.

2006
Enchant.us
$1700

2007
elvis.us $2500 - Traffic auction
esp.us $800 - Namepros
rj45.us $150 (?!?) - Sedo
amateurbaseball.us $150 - Sedo
isex.us $350 - Sedo (Might regret this one later).
roofingContractors.us - $300

Turned down 1k offer for TreeService.us/TreeServices.us and a $400 on Poolcare.us - the sales above are enough to renew all of my remaining .US domains for the year and once that happens my prices go up :)

As a side note (not my transaction), a company called PTL Holdings purchased a good number of .US domains this year, including the roofing domain above. I just noticed that PTL.US is in Sedo escrow ....

quaker.us $250 sedo
reefs.us $350 afternic (probably sold too cheap)
puppylove.us $250 my site
extermination.us $600 my site
video.us $75,000 afternic (I've been paid, but oddly enough I can't get the buyer to change the whois out of my name after several requests)

Early last year, I also sold a block of I think 58 LLL.us for $5500

I've also turned down a number of 4 figure offers for fish.us. Since fish.com sold for 7 figures, I think I should get at least high 5 figures eventually.

Not a sale, but I just turned down a high xxx offer for videocams.us. Never seen as much .US activity on my own names as this past month.

I havent sold any yet. Got a $30 offer on jimi.us, but judging by elvis.us sold @ $2500 and jimi being a 4 LLLL, I hope to get at least $500.

That is a really tough comparison to make IMO.

OK who is more famous Elvis or Jimi Hendrix? Elvis of course...though its not that much of a stretch to realize 1/5 of the selling price of elvis in the future .us market of jimi.us IMO.

I know many people named Elvis. I don't know anyone with the name Jimi spelled that way. You're comparing a real widely used first name to a showbiz name.

Or, if you're more of a numbers person, OVT:

Elvis - 134,713
Jimi - 1,775

If .US really takes off I'll probably regret selling elvis.us one day, but you have to sacrifice a couple a year to pay the rent for the rest :)

$2500 is not too shabby....

While clearing out the warehouse, two dot US domains were sold for about $50, then saw those domains appraised a day later for the buyer at $1500 to $5000 each on a domain forum. :o

It pays to do business with the Cartel. :$:
Just a bunch of damn fools. :]

Anyway isint the point of this thread, "To help encourage those of us who hold .us domains?" No need to attack or criticize. Support is appreciated oneupmanship serves no purpose other than being a game. whatever...:| There is in my estimation a connection between the names, especially as someone who has been in the music biz for awhile.

You were not criticized. Your were not attacked. You were not lambasted. I am sorry if it appeared that way. I gave you a reason why I believe Elvis is a much much stronger word than Jimi and backed it up with statistics showing that 137,000 OVT searches agree with me.

Feel free to debate the point, feel free to prove me wrong, but getting all emo and playing the victim is childish. If I'm wrong then do me a favor and explain why. Help me learn from you, help me understand and correct my thinking. That is what discussion is about.

And yes, now you're being lambasted, but I will trouble you no more.

Lasher...now now, firstly I had no desire to argue, or debate anything. I never said Elvis wasn't a stronger keyword. I have nothing to prove, though it seems you do. You no longer own the name, but congrats on getting $2500. I will hold out and in the future US market will hope to get $500 for jimi.

A domainers aggression is palpable, perhaps a biproduct of frustration? But hey no worries, best of luck in all your future domaining. Let us end this cheery diatribe.:music:

Edited

Sirengirl, my intent was never to attack you or gloat over the sale I made, but to discuss .US domain valuation and compare names. If it came across that way I apologize.

Somewhere along the lines the way we write 'clashed' and there were sparks.
We both have something in common, we both want .US to succeed, let's focus on the positive side of that.
