I would be happy to help advise someone on how to do research to register a new domain name and then find and solicit potential end user buyers. Of course there's no cost for this and I can't guarantee that it will lead to a sale, but hopefully you'll get something out of it. I will pick one person when I return from a trip in a week and a half. More details on my blog...

I wonder you are planning that as paid service?

That is what the info in this forum is for.......and it is FREE! Who is it exactly that you want to take advantage of?

No plans for that at all. It's going to be a challenge for me and I hope I can help someone make a couple sales or at least learn what I am doing.

Nobody is going to be taken advantage of at all. There is no cost or obligation to anyone other than the couple of names that will be registered.

I've blogged about selling to end user buyers extensively, but every time I do, there are always tons of questions about the process and what I did. Hopefully the person that is randomly selected will learn from this experience and maybe even sell a domain or two.

Up until it started taking quite a bit of my time a year and a half ago, I blogged without advertisers and without any compensation whatsoever. I still make more money from selling domain names than I do from blogging. I like sharing and being helpful as there were a number of people who gave me advice along the way.

Sounds like a good idea. :tu:

Knowledge via demonstration is always easier to remember.

Look forward to seeing the outcome here EJS, Good Luck!

"EJS", allbeit, might not frequent this forum too much, but I can tell you that I've been following him and his blog for the last two years, and IMO, a very well respected member of the domaining community, and I'm sure he's doing this from the bottom of his heart (and even if he wasn't, I wouldn't mind paying him for his services because I value it that much)!.

So you are acting as a broker/teacher with more information to offer? You have pointed to your blog and have posted a second time and it still is kind of vague what it is you do exactly.

Sorry if I've jumped to conclusions but it seemed like a hyped PR stunt at first and I thought you stated.... "of course there is a cost to you". Misread. :red:

Thank you for the compliment - and thank you for reading my blog. I am doing this because I enjoy helping people. Other than my time, it costs me nothing and I want to help someone else.

So you are acting as broker, basically, with a little more information to offer? You have pointed to your blog and have posted a second time and it still is very vague. This is why I don't trust whatever it is you are selling in a forum with all the info in the world anyone would need to do what you claim you can do....for a price.

No not acting as a broker at all. If anything you could call it an advisor or coach or something like that. I am not going to make a penny and that's how I want it. I hope the person sells 2 names for $500 each and then goes on to do it again many times over, and I don't want anything in return whatsoever.

To clarify, I plan to select one person randomly from the list. I will learn about that person's interests to see what types of domain names might be interesting to him or her. For example, a car repair expert will know 100x more about car parts, repairs, and other things than I would, so the focus on finding a couple of unregistered, re-sellable domain names might be in that vertical.

I will share specific information about what I like to look for in finding domain names because I generally don't blog about the names I sell out of respect for the buyers. I will then work with the person to identify possible buyers for the domain name(s) and come up with the sales strategy to hopefully sell the name for $500 or less (not bad for a $10 investment). If negotiations are necessary, I will assist as best I can to get the seller the best possible price.

Instead of simply buying a name, reselling it, and then blogging about it myself, I will work with someone (I guess you could say mentoring or coaching) and hopefully it will lead to a successful sale for this person. If not a sale, at least it will give more insight into how I make end user sales.

You don't have to participate if you're skeptical.

BTW, I am traveling later today and won't be back for a little more than a week, so if people have questions or comments, I am more likely to check my blog than here when on vacation :) If you're in the US, have a great holiday weekend. If you're not in the US, have a great weekend too!

I see. Again I mean no disrespect. Sounded too good to be true but makes more sense now especially if you are looking to get the experience out of it in the end. Just doing it to help is a nice gesture. Good luck.
