l33t domains--Any future?

I have noticed that a lot of "good" l33t .com domains have been dropping and have not been picked up by anyone.

My question: what does the future hold for these oddball domains?

I see a lot of l33t user IDs in forums, Facebook, and Twitter, but the people using them don't seem to reg them.

As these users, many of them youngsters, grow up, will they begin regging these domains, or do you think they will grow out of their love of l33t IDs?

Just curious.

Well, I recently picked up c0nnect [dot] com for reg fee, and I agonized over that reg, only doing so because the o and 0 are so close together on the keyboard. It's a generic, so I thought, "why not"?

I have a few other generic l33ts on my list that I'm thinking about regging, only because the "real" domains are high cpc words, but they aren't really good typos (in terms of position on the keyboard), which is why they are still unregged.

Being older, I didn't really catch on to the l33t thing when it was "hot," but I keep seeing l33t terms around and not just in domain lists.

133t speak isn't a worthy investment.

Any domain that asks end users to ponder how it is typed is bad.

Only premium l33t has future. e.g. n00b.com

Yes, I saw some of those unimponderable l33ts, such as 45535--or was it 54434--? which supposedly spells out a**es.

Nice si7e, Tim3warp.

I like that you didn't go complete l33t, though.

Still very readable and sigh7ings is very symmetrical, with the "7" smack dab in the middle.

Love it!

I doubt that the intended audience is going to pay more than reg fee for a domain.

I receive quite a bit of traffic on n00b.org

I would invest my money elsewhere though.
