Hi guys, haven't checked the "L-L-L.com thread" in a while ;)
...
I must say that I'm rather fond of the ones I registered early on! B-)

care to share?
:)

i want some more, waiting for some paypal $
my main example i give to anyone not realising the potential is, people said L-L.com would never be worth anythin, even just 3 years ago. Now low - mid $xxxx, IF anyone is prepared to sell them.

LLL is a wider used acronym than LL too in business terms.
We've seen the astronomical rise in LLL prices, L-L-L has to come next to a lesser degre.
All about supply and demand.
Also for anyone who hasn't checked out the developed mobi thread, thousands are developed sites.
For me this is the biggest news of year in domaining terms.

Sorry Arn...I just can't decide which one to "share"...let me do some research in my portfolio and see which ones are getting the most traffic! ;)
...
Umm, M-M-U.COM for one ;)

I'm not sure if this has already been mentioned, but was browsing DNJ and saw that A-R-M.com sold for $4k in September. Seems that L-L-Ls are getting hotter!

Yeah, saw that, ta.
Think it was buydomains? who sold that?
They have sold a few recently around that range.

They also are regging a lot of L-L-L & on the drop too.
Don't think they know about our list :hehe:

Yeah - it looks like it was BuyDomains. The main thing that caught my eye about this was that it was a dictionary word, not just an acronym for a company. This therefore shows that there is significant enduser potential for L-L-Ls.

There was another 2 the previous week for similar amounts too.

Like BuyandSwap said earlier, be interesting to see how many unreported sales go on & also that fall under bar for reporting.

It really is this simple, if your company is called XYZ

First choice XYZ.com (or cctld of choice)

Second choice X-Y-Z.com

If you have popular letters like ABC, then you're knackered.

Did you know ABC.com & A-B-C.com were both registered on 22nd May 1996 :)

Neither will probably ever come up for sale.
Either way, if you have a 3 letter company acronym these are your first 2 choices.
To all intents and purposes i believe there will be none left in a few months and people will be ruing the day, just like they did with LLL.

It wont happen overnight, you will need to hold, but when you have a reasonable sized portfolio, the offers will come. :imho:

Yes, it is a dictionary word, but I think the value in "A-R-M" probably has more to do with it being the very common abbreviation for "adjustable rate mortgage." In any case, a great sale!

Umm, M-M-U.COM for one ;)

My L-M-U gets the best rev and 45% click thru rate. I think with all my L-L-L's that end with U I have put "student loans".

Hey thanks Gary! :tu:

I have a bunch ending in -U, I'll definitely try your tip now. :)

Ok, the "U" thing sounds reasonable...what would you do with A-C-X.com though? Air Condition Extreme or AirCraft Exchange? I'm a bit lost with this one... :'(

Thanks in advance for your insights!

Yep 'x' is perfect for exchange
well, you could develop into anything u like, but the best value one day imo is when an enduser is interested.
Here are some interesting firms using the acronym.
In all cases your domain is more memorable, & of course is the .com:

www.acxcorporate.sm Quite a nice site too

http://www.acx.nu/ Amsterdam Creativity Exchange
(they have their cctld so may not be interested)

http://www.climateexchange.com.au/ Australian Climate Excange (ACX)

http://www.acxconsulting.com/

I just pulled the first 4 off google too. Have a trawl to get some ideas, or contact some endusers.
Good Luck

interesting thread :)

I see lots of decent end user sales, but these can't really say anything about the reseller price for these domains. So is there some minimum reseller value to a L-L-L.com with all premium letters?

~MG

Tricky.
When they're gone, they can have a value put on for resellers, until then no.

Primarily, they are enduser, business domains, like LLL.

Some can be vanity domains for domainers like LLL, ie. initials, your name etc.

cvcv etc. are easier to put reseller tag on, because they are all gone & many domainers like developing brandable web 2.0 like sites from time to time.

In short very difficulty thing to put price on.

If it's a word L-L-L i would say straight away a premium. Or name like i said earlier.

My name is Guy.

The .com just sold for xxx,xxx mid i think

So, if someone offered me G-U-Y.com for sale, i would snap up mid xxx at least & i'm a tight git. No doubt many would pay a lot more as could be used for a lot of purposes.

Cliche, but like all domains they are all unique.
I personally will sell none of mine to resellers. They're holders.

NB: as an absolute minimum, everything dropping on the L-L-L front is getting snapped. People are paying minimum $59 - $99, & very often these are getting bid right up for nice combos.

But, theres still a lot of nice ones you can handreg.
I nailed some tonight. Will post 'em later. :)

Just a thought... considering getting out of Domaining completely as my business is now taking more time than I have to effectively manage and watch things... If I were to offer the following list, what would you offer? What should I ask for them?

Over 100 names here mostly L-L-L with some old favorites like H-M-O.com, H-U-D.com, S-S-S.net and a bunch of 3 letter (L-L-L) worders like HEN, DRY, DYE, FAG, HIT, JUG, LIP, PIT, VUE, YAK.

There are some huge acronyms in there too... I won't mention the BIG ones that have strange simularities to massive corporate interestes ;)
B-R-B, C-S-D, D-E-Q, F-H-M, H-S-N, P-N-W, P-S-U (think colleges), P-T-O, U-S-O and more. Did I mention N-H-L.com?
