The question of mourning is a subjective question. People mourn the most about the people they knew. Nobody has to mourn about Kobe Brynt, but those who doesn't shoud avoid these thread and let those who mourn to show respect for a sports legend like Kobe Bryant.

A plenty of people around the world lost their hero and you should respect that.

He was an impressive player, no doubt. I bet most of the people that died today have impressive qualities...

i think there were 4-5 people along with him, also died in the accident. condolences to them as well. Big loss for each and every family involved in this.

I am in medicine, i see this on daily basis. Life is temporary and short, but we fail to realize this on every daily basis, and people tend to think life is permanent, and get carried away and become selfish at times. If everyone remember on daily basis that one day death is ultimate outcome, then we would be more kind to each other, and would not be selfish.

But reality of the matter is, no one realize that until death. To sum this up, and seeing this in my clinicals in ICU or ER trauma


Life is Temporary, and Death is permanent. Enjoy till it last, embrace what you love, and put differences aside, and love each other and your family and loved ones.

It's just over 24 hours since hearing about the devastating news. The shock and denial stage is ending, as the next stages of grief takeover.

Kobe united Southern California like nobody ever has or ever will. He brought everyone together. All demographics. All political parties. All ages. All social statuses from the poorest of neighborhoods to the most wealthy, he was someone that brought everyone together.

Most recently he purchased a few basketball courts in an industrial building launching the Mamba Sports Academy. He did so for the youth, not just from LA, but for youth from around the world. It was him giving back. I live a jog away from the facility. My son was fortunate enough to play basketball with players from around the world, as everyone was wishing to come to Kobe's facility. Weekends were filled with parents and kids, from all demographics, enjoying basketball and life. It was exactly how Kobe wanted it.

Crazy as it is, Kobe was on his way to the facility when the tragedy struck. He was living his life the same way as many of us do. Spending his time with his kids, with other kids, coaching and enjoying the two things he loved most, kids and basketball. He passed doing what he loved.

Unfortunately, the Mamba Sports Academy is closed indefinitely. The future remains uncertain. My hope is that Kobe's legacy continues throughout different ways. He united us, he loved community, he loved and mentored our youth. He inspired kids so young they never saw him play on live television. Kobe's legacy is irreplaceable.
