(United States specific question)
In the mid 00's, I was a member of the Americorps NCCC (National Civilian Community Corps) program and while participating, was kinda shocked to see the domain was available, so I grabbed the .com (americorpsnccc dt com) Wish I had grabbed the .org too :bah:
Anyway, since then, the organization has achieved a much higher profile and Obama plans to really expand the hell out of them. Over the years I've received a number of low range unsolicited offers to buy it, but held on for sentimental reasons. Figure now's about the right time to get it dev'd.
Just wondering what kind of legalities are involved with developing a keyword pure .com of a government program/agency name? Like, if you owned FEMA.com?
I mean, I am a program alumni so there is a clear, relevant nexus between my own life and the program itself, as opposed to some random act of domain-name grabbing.
I remember when whitehouse.com was a porn site and Clinton sent them a cease and desist letter
I'd really rather not bother with any aggravation over it.
