Just realized privacy transfers to new registrar.. Nice..!!

Haven't transferred a lot of domains, but recently transferred a few to godaddy from Internetbs.net that had the free privacy which Internetbs.net offers. Planning to possibly put the names up for auction on godaddy the reason for the transfer

So when I transferred the names to godaddy I didn't buy the privacy they offered so I assumed the whois info would be public, but went to check and the whois is still on privacy, so at least when transferring from Internetbs.net to godaddy the privacy appears to travel with the domain, which is quite neat

I imagine it will only last as long as the previous registration at Internetbs.net was going to last..

Whenever you transfer a domain from one registrar to another, the contact info remains as is until you manually update it. In this case your contact info was whatever your privacy service assigned to you. The problem is that the privacy email address your previous registrar assigned you will most likely cease to function now that you're with Godaddy. If that's the case, then Godaddy will not be able to verify your email address as required by ICANN and eventually Godaddy will suspend your domain.

Thanks, yeah you're right the email address isn't working, guess I'll need to see what can be done. I actually just tried to update the email address so I'll see if it takes effect. I guess some domains get suspended for non function email address but haven't heard of it happening unless someone makes an issue out of it..
