WOW! I had to share this! I know most of you guys use other registrars, but I use Godaddy.com. After a year and 500 domains later, I am a retention customer. This means I get my own special account representative. I registered an accidental typo the other day so I wanted to get a refund. I got it refunded and then I asked about my eligibility for discounts. I was amazed, I knew that I get discounts, but WOW! I get discount on every extension! Even .Tv and .Mobi! I was suprised that they look at your current price, even if you used a code, they will lower it below the code discounted price! I now get my .Tv at a flat rate of $25!!! I think that is my renewal price as well! :yell: Man I could have been saving a small fortune! I am very impulsive, plus if you snooze you lose! So I never call in to buy the names, but I think that is going to change! They said I get 10% off of .Mobi and more if I buy in bulk! Information I could have used 6 months ago! Anyhow, I just thought the $25 flat rate was pretty nice!!! Cheers!

Do you think enom.tv will eventually maintain the 19.99 reg fee as a standard?
I think before it is all over they will, because to market .tv to college kids, teenagers and the average person, to link myspace pages, blogs etc, 19.99 is far more attractive than 40-50 per year just for a domain name.

Unless of course the software theat Demand plans on providing is really really good and comes with the domain registration free or at a steep discount.

I just call the normal number, then I tell them my account, they put me on hold and transfer me to my personal account rep. According to my rep there are only 17 Reps at godaddy handling special accounts. I hate calling and waiting etc. I have no direct number for him. It seems he was assigned to my account. I dont think you can call them direct unless they are assigned to you. When I asked about my pricing he put me on hold and asked his boss what the discount is for me, he said I see you buy them at $29.99, we can offer you a $25 flat rate. I have to call or email him the names I want and he will get them for me at my cheaper price. He said I can get a discount on any extension they sell, which is nice I may branch out and pick up some others! You could ask them what their requirements are to receive benefits. Thats really the only thing I can think of. I will ask next time I speak to him.


-UPDATE- I just checked my email and he sent me an email with all his contact info. I will discuss the discounts with him tomorow. In the letter it just introduces himself and explains what account executives can do. Basically it says it gives me special treatment and discounts for volume business. I am kind of upset I havent been using this earlier. They just gave me $4.99 off of discount code prices, that is a lot of savings that I missed.

Any idea what kind of levels you have to be at to get discount pricing on .com domains? I have about 70 domains or so which enough for them to get me $6.95 renewals on .com's. What sort of business do you have to be doing with them to get further discounts?

OK that is really starting to scare me! How on earth did I become one of their top 5000 customers in less than a year? OMG someone help! I think I am beyond addicted! I know I buy lots of domains but... Am I that bad LOL I have to get some discounts today on some renewals, so I will be calling them and will further inquire about possible discounts. I found the number for my reps boss and will find out more today If you have 500 plus domains I would think you were eligible! I have about 550 and they offered me a rep about 6 months ago when I had about 400, it may be how often you buy them, not just how many you have! I probably register and renew 5 domans everyday.

Just so you guys know I submitted a lengthy letter to my rep at godaddy, I hope to hear back tommorow. It outlines getting a .Tv dicount for anyone here if possible. I asked if he can take on clients at his discretion, or if he is mandated to certain accounts only. I even tried to possibly just to have you guys email him the names you want like in equity78's thread about moniker! So I will keep my fingers crossed for you guys! I will post as soon as I hear anything!

OK guys here is the scoop! I just got off the phone with my rep at godaddy. Apparently after this thread there was a major major upswing in calls, I guess my rep got in trouble for the hundreds of people that called about the $25 pricing! I had no idea this thread was going to cause such a problem. Anyhow I just wanted to say that the $25 pricing is not going to happen for everyone, even I have to buy several at a time if I want a deep discount. Anyhow I can put you in contact with an account executive if you PM me. Beware, I cannot work miracles for the entire forum, I can only vouch for few good members that I am familiar with. I will keep you guys posted.
