.tv Just bought a expensive adult domain, think I'm mad??

Hi guys,

Over the past month i have made some decisions about my future in domains and have decided to dedicate my time & energy into investing in 3 .tv sections of Adult, Geo & Education which i feel have the brightest future in .tv

I bought this Adult domain last week, i am sure many of you will think i over paid but i have a strategy for its future so i am comfortable with the price.

Domain: LesbianVideos.tv
I paid $350 at Sedo.
** I also own the singular version of this domain.

What do you think??
DO you believe that Adult .tv domains are a good investment??

Your development plans and execution are where you need to invest.

Any domain can be successfully developed. A good domain certainly helps grease the wheels but it is planning and execution that makes a domain/website/business successful.

So, I guess that means its time to hire some lesbians!

Adult certainly is one niche that will and has done well with .tv check out 6.tv and sextv1.tv DO NOT SEARCH AT WORK OR WHERE ANYONE CAN SEE THESE ARE XXX SITES.

Your 3 areas overall are very strong and I think you will do well with them, another area is the softer side of adult that is just risque but not porn you also have less worries from the USC 18 2257 laws Make sure you talk to someone who specializes in that area of adult law before you put up a site.

Thanks for the advice on the legal aspects Equity, i will need to look into all that closer to the time but i reckon it will be a month or 2 til i get into any serious developing as i need to finish a wee gambling .com im working on just now.

I am in REAL trouble if $350 is a lot for a domain. But adult entertainment has great potential!!

Trust me mate $350 is alot for a guy like me. Its not that $350 is lots to spend (im not rich but far from poor) but its the idea of paying $350 for a domain only is new to me as domaining isnt my industry.

I really fell into this world when my industry of gambling got me involved in working for any then eventually owning, managing Football betting advice sites. SO my domain experience was limited to buying £7 .com's and working my ass off to turn then into high income subscription only sites.

So i am at the stage where i am still trying to justify domains as investments. I have the development & business experience but i dont have the domainers attitude & experience yet, it is slowly coming though

Your development and business experiance is worth its weight in gold.....that is where the true money lies ............quite frankly the attitude on its own delivers very little short of daydreams and possibilities.......

Thanks Millers, i do think my experience will get me through but for now its a case of learning the best methods in a slightly different area of this industry.

Ive gotta say that i found dealing in the aftermarket like NO other buyers market i have ever been in. I have been buying and selling products, propert, shares and anything else i could since i was about 12 but dealing with domainers who honestly felt the domain the bought for $30 was worth $15,000+ within 1 month was crazy to me so it took me a while before i even came close to buying a domain.

I wouldnt mind buying and selling the odds domain here and there but i am not a great fan of doing full time or to rely on selling for an income, development is where the money, thrill, excitement and long term business is to be found IMHO.

Equity i had a look at they 2 sites you mentioned (definetley not for Work Pc's!) The one that interest me most for the .tv ext is Sextv1.tv as it markets itself as Free adult tv channels which should work well with Channelme's plans for .tv Do you have any idea on how such a site works? I have looked into a few other adult affiliates for short term solutions for a few domains i have but i havent seen anything like Sextv1.tv where they give free preview of video before buying the right to see the full movie (i believe thats how it works anyway)

I dont have a great knowledge of adult websites yet (honest) so im not sure on the next step on development. Does anyone else find this embarrassing to talk/type about? :red: I know we are all grown men & women here but i have never been somebody who used internet porn sites so i dont have a great idea how they work.

Any advice would be great.

I am no adult name expert. I am familiar with the industry as a whole. No puns intended. I am a photographer, I got my start assisting a major photographer in LA. He had two interesting clients, Hustler and Vivid video. He was hired to shoot the covers, each cover he charged $10000, we shot about 3 a week. Do the math, this industry has tons of money. It will never see a major recession even if the US does. Adult names have inherent value. I am not a big proprioter of these names, but I seem to pick up nice dropped .coms all the time, they get traffic and make decent revenue every month. Its always a good investment. But, I cant say that .TV adult names are the way to go. I know that there are a few documented instances, but that does not prove .tv and adult go hand in hand. I mean if you can make a successful site out of sextv1.tv, then you can pretty much make an adult site out of anything. If you had bought lesbians.tv then I would be amazed. I dont think the price was bad, I just think for $350 you could have got something different, which, IMO would have had more value undeveloped. If you want to develop check out gfy.com You are bound to find tons of turnkey adult sites. best of luck.
